Congratulations are in order for Glee star Lea Michele and her husband Zandy Reich, who welcomed their first child together this past weekend!
Now look, I really didn’t know what to expect from Lea as far as baby names went, but her pick is deffs a lot more out there than I could have imagined.
Being a celebrity comes with a lot of perks.

Free stuff being gifted to you constantly, fame, fortune, millions of fans, and of course, being able to name your baby something super eclectic and have everyone praise you for it.
Which is exactly what happened to Lea Michele, who welcomed her son “Ever Leo” into the world this past weekend.

That’s right.
Ever . Leo . Two names.
One super unclear meaning.
A source close to the couple told *People* magazine that the new parents are doing amazing, sweetie.

“Everyone’s happy and healthy, and they’re extremely grateful,” the source told the publication.
“He’s been an easy baby so far,” the source added.
And while fans are thrilled that Lea and baby are doing well, they wasted virtually no time sharing their opinions on her name choice.
The initial reaction seemed to be surprise, and possibly a bit of confusion.
Some were just learning that “Ever” could be used as a name at all.
And if I’m being honest, I hadn’t considered it to be a name before today.
According to Nameberry.com , Ever is known as a girl’s name of English origin, but also has ties to (primarily male) names in the Scandinavian and Hebrew cultures.
Some Gleeks couldn’t help but start with the *Glee* references as soon as humanly possible.
(And we can’t blame them, to be completely honest). We just hope that Ever grows up to be one of the biggest Gleeks yet!
There were also a lot of fans who were hoping that Lea would name her son “Cory”, after her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith.
“If lea didn’t honor cory somehow when she named her baby i’m blocking her,” another tweeted .
Other fans were quick to shut down the “Cory” idea, along with “Finn”, who Cory played on *Glee*.

And points have definitely been made here.
Overall, there was a lot of love for Lea and Ever.
“I’m sure you’ll be a great mom! Welcome to the world, little Ever Leo,” wrote one supportive fan
Needless to say, the unique name has stirred up some controversy on social media.

People seem to either totally love it, or totally hate it!
