Congratulations are in order for musician and human sunshine Ed Sheeran and his lovely wife Cherry Seaborn, who welcomed their first child together last week!
Now look, I really didn’t know what to expect from Ed as far as baby names went, but the couple’s name pick is deffs a lot more out there than I could have imagined.

There’s no denying that being a celebrity comes with a lot of perks.
Free stuff being gifted to you constantly, fame, fortune, millions of fans, and of course, being able to name your baby something super eclectic and have everyone praise you for it.
And while Ed isn’t the flashy celebrity type, he is still taking that societal permission slip to name his baby girl something *very* unique.
Taking to Instagram to announce the exciting news, Ed wrote : “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.”
He continued, “We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.”
“We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed.”
The reactions on social media have been mixed, to say the least.
“that kid is gonna be bullied in school for being named Antarctica Seaborn,” wrote one Twitter user.
“Antarctica Seaborn… well it’s better than X Æ A-Xii,” wrote another .
It’s clear that regardless of people’s thoughts on the ~unique~ name, there is no doubt Ed and Cherry are going to be amazing parents.
“Congratulations to @edsheeran and his wife for their newborn child! That baby will have lovely lullabies! I hope you both get some rest and I wish your family all the best,” lamented one emotional fan.
