With the Golden Globes having just taken place, there are SO many moments to unwrap.
There’s the obvious, like how Ricky Gervais roasted a room full of celebrities to a burnt crisp and how Jennifer Aniston laughed during Brad Pitt’s speech.
There are also lesser-known moments that still had a BIG impact on the night.
Like how fans believe that Ryan Seacrest was super rude during his interview with Kerry Washington.
Ryan Seacrest may be one of the biggest celebrity interviewers out there, but that doesn’t make him immune to awkward moments over the years.
Like the time he interviewed a blind guy and tried to HIGH FIVE HIM?!
If you can the handle awkwardness that is this moment, here it is:
It’s like a car crash; we just can’t look away.
Another time, he made fans want to rescue Lady Gaga from this awkward interview with Ryan at the Grammys.
The secondhand cringe was soo real every time Ryan pointed a microphone at the A Star Is Born singer without even asking a question first.
She even called him out for it:
After Ryan playfully kept pointing the microphone to and from her face, he recovered by saying, “well you know, we’re out of time.”
Ryan’s latest awkward interview took place at the 2020 Golden Globes.

It all started when the lovely Kerry Washington of Scandal fame stepped up to be interviewed by the TV host and radio personality.
Before her interview with Ryan started, though, she spotted the equally lovely Jennifer Aniston walking up the stairs.
“You look so beautiful!” Kerry told her because, duh, it’s Jennifer Aniston.
This led to such a sweet fan-girl moment between the two queens who couldn’t stop gushing over each other.
Jen then stood off to the side to wait for her own interview with Ryan while Kerry and Ryan got to talking about how Kerry was presenting an award that night.
But soon, thanks to Ryan, the convo turned back to Jen.

He even called her over!
“Jennifer, come over here, we’re talking about you,” he said.
In case you’re wondering how Kerry felt at that moment, her face pretty much says it all:

Being that she’s Kerry Washington, though, she quickly handled her interrupted interview with class.
After Kerry continued to gush about “The Morning Show” and how amazing Jen is, the two shared a sweet hug.

“I’m gonna let you guys chat. No, go,” Kerry said after Jennifer had just stood there awkwardly.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only time Kerry’s interview with Ryan was interrupted.
She was demoted to the sidelines again after Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez showed up.
J.Lo gave Kerry a wave at least!
It wasn’t until later that Kerry FINALLY got her interview with Ryan.
During this time, she got to talk about her upcoming project with Reese Witherspoon called Little Fires Everywhere .
But before she shared what the project means to her, the Scandal star served up an Olivia Pope-worthy dig to Ryan by saying, “There are so many people here to say hi to.”
Turns out, it wasn’t just Kerry who appeared to feel slighted.
Online, fans went to bat for the star by calling Ryan out for being rude to the star.
We all know Jennifer Aniston is great, but no one puts baby in the corner!
Time to brush up on those interviewing skills, Ryan.
We’re dying to know more about how Kerry got over being slighted, but given that she’s a classy kween, she’ll probably forget about the whole thing.

What do you think about Ryan’s interview with Kerry?
Was he being rude in his interview or was this just an oversight on his part?
Award show red carpet interviews are almost always where the real drama happens.
Like before the Emmys, when Jenny McCarthy’s red carpet interviews were the talk of the night much like Ryan’s were for the Globes.
Most notably, her attempt to bond with Christina Applegate that showed her lack of research.
Jenny McCarthy mistakenly asked Christina “This is your first nomination, right?” when this was actually Christina’s fifth Emmy nomination. Not even a little bit close, Jenny!
And then she told Christina that when she watched ‘Married With Children,’ Jenny wanted to be Christina’s character when she grew up.
The only problem, of course, is that Jenny isn’t young enough to have been watching Married With Children as a child — she’s only one year younger than Christina, so she was already the same age as her character too.
It wasn’t just Jenny McCarthy that got caught in a bit of an embarrassing situation on that red carpet with Christina.
Giuliana Rancic from E! asked if Christina wanted to give a shout-out to her daughter who was watching at home, and Christina responded that she probably wasn’t watching E, “because, you know.”
Ouch!
Award show red carpets are no place for the faint of heart.
What have we learned here today, kids? Do your research, don’t interrupt your interview to interview other people, and just try to respect the people you’re speaking to!
