So when people got their panties in a knot after Jennifer Lopez’s American Music Awards performance, they took to Facebook to express their EMOTIONS!
In case you’ve missed it, I’ll fill y’all in quick on J-Lo and Colombian artist Maluma’s HOT new collab.
The songs, “Pa’ Ti + Lonely” were released back in September. Finally, the pair got to perform the duet live on Sunday night’s American Music Awards!
Unsurprisingly, J-Lo and Maluma’s ~steamy~ performance got mixed reviews.
While many fans were obsessed with it and saw it for the piece of ART it was, a bunch of Facebook viewers were absolutely raging about it!
“Jennifer i think you’re a great artist but you show too much everytime you make a show …It’s Time to have respect for yourself and your husband…” wrote one fan.
“Halfway thru the show and so far all I’ve seen is bumping and grinding from the performers. Ridiculous! At the beginning your host said to stop … leave the stage… it’s a FAMILY SHOW… uh, it only got worse!!” another angry viewer wrote .
The rant continued: “Very disappointed. And mostly by women… who will turn around tomorrow and be surprised that men consider them as sex objects! Don’t like the stereotyping?? … quit acting like one!”
“I fast forwarded the rest. And not much variety of music… almost all rap.”
They concluded, “Gonna stick with the CMA’s where they act decent and present a ‘FAMILY SHOW!’ This is just my opinion.”
“I mean she is a 50 year old woman after all I just thought that it was kind of disrespectful the way she was dressed,” another angry fan wrote .
I’m not going to lie to y’all, some of these angry comments were just plain hilarious.
“This is not a family show. Twerks and tongues galore,” gets the award for my fave comment , LOL.
“TWERKS AND TONGUES GALORE” should be the title of my autobiography.
Of course, not everyone was so ~uptight~ about the performance.
“The ‘nuns’ on this thread should be asleep and not watching the show,” commented one J-Lo fan.
“Queen, delivered everything on stage! Couldn’t be more proud,” agreed another.
A lot of people were even comparing the performance to Beyoncé’s iconic “Drunk In Love” performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, this performance sparked a lot of conversation and outrage online!
Interestingly, Maluma got hardly any backlash online for his part in the steamy performance.
Which is so surprising ! It’s not like women always get blamed and shamed for being “too sexy” or anything!
It’s 2020, surely that kind of sexist behavior doesn’t happen anymore, riiiiiiiggggghhhhhtttttt?!
