Here we are folks, back in the wonderful world of Game Of Thrones . Today, we look at a cameo you may not have seen due to… another unexpected cameo. Oh yeah, we’re talking the cup.
As per usual, we have spoilers.
Watch out folks, we’ve got a spoi-boy in the house.
He’s gonna spoil Game Of Thrones Season 8, Episode 4 for all of you guys who are still kicking around on Season 3! This is your final warning!
Now that they’re gone.
What did you think of ‘The Last Of The Starks’? It’s been divisive amongst fans, with some accusing the creators, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss of “ruining” Season 8, and perhaps even the legacy of the whole show.
Personally, I thought it was alright.
It’s a buildup episode, people.
Yes, they killed off a dragon with a totally overpowered ballista thing. Yes, Sansa is the worst keeper of secrets in all of Westeros. But it’s all going to pay off… I hope.
And oh yeah, there was one more thing.
Apparently, we learned that the “there’s a Starbucks on every corner” trope extends into fiction as well.
It’s now canon that the coffee chain exists in Westeros, as Daenerys was seen with a cup in front of her during one of the scenes.
Well, not really.
I mean it’s not really canon, someone probably forgot to take their cup out of the scene.
The script supervisor, or whoever is in charge of scene continuity is probably to blame for that mistake, not Starbucks’ ever reaching tentacles.
But people really went wild.
Seriously, the memes were popping off for this one, folks. For the last couple of days, everyone has been posting Starbucks/ Game Of Thrones crossovers.
Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, they’re all over it!
People were so focused on the cup that they missed something awesome.
A cameo!

I mean, Game Of Thrones cameos are often hard to spot in general, but it completely went over everyone’s head due to A) the Starbucks cup and B) the way that Jon treated Ghost.
Season 8 has had some decent cameos.
Okay, not everybody loved Ed Sheeran’s cameo, but he was there. There’s no changing it.
We got Mac from “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”.
Also known as Rob McElhenney, this actor and director appeared in the first episode of the new Season as one of Euron Greyjoy’s posse.
He got shot in the eye by an arrow.
And, we got a country music star.
Chris Stapleton, one of the greats I might add, got to appear as a fallen wildling during the Battle Of Winterfell.
Hm… I wonder if they have country music in Westeros. Do Tyrion and the boys hang out and listen to “Boys Round Here”?
But the most recent episode had the most important cameo of all.
During the Feast Of Winterfell, we see these two guys in the background.
Barely, and they’re Wildlings covered in hair, but if you look closely…
You’ll see that it’s the creators of the show.
That’s right, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were raising glasses with Tormund and celebrating the victory.
It’s not their first cameo, but it’s certainly their most recent one.
Some think the cameo was cool.
And rightfully so, it’s often neat to see the creator of a product in… well, their product.
Plus, it gives the feeling like they really want to be a part of this thing, so much so they insert themselves into the series.
Some people are… well, still going on about the coffee cup.
While they are the creators and writers, I’m pretty sure they pay people to notice coffee cups.
Or at the very least whoever on the cast or crew that was drinking it should’ve moved the darn thing!
