A Japanese destination has gone viral after an Instagram post highlighted its sheer beauty and unique aspects. Tottori Old Beach is now a must-visit destination for anyone eyeing up the Asian islands of Japan, all thanks to photographer Hisa.
Welcome To The Beach
It’s stunning from the get-go. While celebrities adore the likes of Turks and Caicos, The Bahamas, or Costa Rica, this sandy stretch affords stunning vistas where sand and water match, plus a snow addition!
Throwing In Some Snow

The photo showed a strip of beach where golden sands formed a bit of a sandwich. On the right, fans saw shallow lapping waves, but over to the left, there is snow.
Where Was It Taken?
Per Reddit users, the snap was taken at the San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark, in Western Japan. The region stretches from the eastern Kyogamisaki Cape, Kyoto, to the Western Hakuto Kaigan Coast, Tottori.
You Can Get Snow Beaches In America!
Also discussed on Reddit was where else the snow and beach combo can be found. One user claimed to have enjoyed the perk without traveling out to Japan.
“I lived on the Oregon coast for a little and got to experience snow on the beach a couple days, super rare here, though,” they wrote.

Another replied: “Yes, this is exactly what PEI looks like every winter. I love walking the beach in the winter, especially when the shore pulls in the ice floes and creates some wild architecture!”
Go Taiko Drumming!
Bloggers are always offering tips on how to enjoy Japan – and there’s more than the major cities like the capital Tokyo.
“From joining an ice-breaker ship off the northern coast of Hokkaido (just below Siberia in Russia), having a go at taiko drumming at the Kodo Drummers cultural centre on Sadoshima, island hopping by bicycle between Awaji and Shikoku, and diving off the coast of Okinawa in the south,” The Real Japan advises of Saido Island.
Over 24,000 Likes
The original Reddit post has now topped 24,000 likes. It came with a #HelloFrom Sea of Japan, but without a specific location mentioned. This forced users to guess as the image went viral.
Fans Want To Go
Plenty of replies have come in, and it looks like everyone wants a little piece of this heaven. One dan said that they plan to travel to Japan next month and will be hitting it up.
