Oh come on, there will always be people who are going to name their children or animals after their favorite characters.
Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys is no exception.
Warning! Game of Thrones spoilers ahead!
Daenerys was practically an immediate fan favorite.

Fans loved her fearlessness, her bravery, her kindness, and her empathy.
She was truly one of the best characters in the series.
In season eight, her characterization shifted.

She was losing her patience with the people around her, due to watching the people she loves die and worrying about betrayals.
Who could blame her?
But her shocking twist put people off.

Her decision to burn King’s Landing didn’t sit well with viewers.
It didn’t seem like something the Mother of Dragons that we know and love would do.
This all made it very awkward for people who have named their pets and children after her.

According to The Washington Post over 3,000 girls have either the name ‘Khaleesi’ or ‘Daenerys’.
What does Clarke think about her character’s heel turn?
Clarke told The New Yorker , “I think that, when you see the final episode, they’ll see there is a beginning and a middle and an end to her as a character. I think that there are people that will agree with her, because she’s a human being.”
Emilia Clarke told all to The New Yorker.
They asked her all about her character development and what Dany means to her.
They also told her that people have been naming their children and pets after her character.
So what does she think about the name itself?

“Khaleesi is a beautiful name,” Clarke said.
“It’ll all be forgotten in a minute! You know, and people will just go, ‘Oh, what an unusual name, how fabulous,’ and the child will say, ‘Yes, yes. My parents just really liked the name.'”
She actually loves it.
She finished with , “I would say, ‘Work it, girls!’ I’ve enjoyed being called that, and I think they will, too.”
