And, I’m a big believer in Santa’s workshop — so when I heard there was a Downton Abbey sequel film in the works, set to be released on December 22nd, I knew we had CHRISTMAS MIRACLES TO THANK!

It was announced on Monday that a sequel to the 2019 film had recently begun production!
In even more exciting news, the film will feature the return of the original movie’s cast, including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton, and Penelope Wilton!
The film’s producer Gareth Neame addressed fans in a statement:
” After a very challenging year with so many of us separated from family and friends, it is a huge comfort to think that better times are ahead and that next Christmas we will be reunited with the much-beloved characters of Downton Abbey .”
Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski added to the excitement, saying:
“There’s no place like home for the holidays, and we can’t imagine a better gift than getting to reunite with Julian, Gareth, and the entire Downton family in 2021 to bring the Crawley’s back home for their fans.”
Downton Abbey 2 is set to be released on December 22, 2021.
