Two business partners in Florida, Xavier Figueroa and Akeido Bennett, killed each other a few days before the new year due to a work disagreement. The Floridan Police responded to a 911 call about a shooting in their official residence on 29 Dec. and found them dead upon arrival.
Bennett Died In His Truck

Although the Polk County Sherriff’s Office keeps its cards close to its vest, it revealed some details about the tragic incident, including that the men died separately. 39-year-old Figueroa died in his office, while his 31-year-old business partner, Bennett, died in his truck.
Both Victims Were From Kissimmee

Despite being from Kissimmee, Figueroa and Bennett set up shop at 3135 U.S. 92 East, near Fish Hatchery Road. Based on the investigative results, the police suspect Bennett fired the first shot and attempted to flee the crime scene.
Unfortunately, Figueroa also hit him with a bullet, and he succumbed to the injuries before he could drive off.
Choose Peace And Love Over Conflict

The Polk County Sheriff, Grady Judd, spoke against the senseless violence, saying both men lost their lives and left their families in mourning due to resolvable differences. They could’ve spoken about the issue and resolved it with words, but they resorted to gun violence. It’s sadder because the news comes during the holidays.
Sheriff Judd Speaks Out

Further research based on the released business address showed Bennett and Figueroa owned an auto service business.
Sheriff Judd implored Florida residents to trade violent responses for peaceful resolutions as many people suffer the consequences of their actions.
Sheriff Judd’s Statement

Sheriff Judd said,
A Possible Third Party

The Polk County police are still investigating the shooting to determine what went wrong in the days leading up to the incident and the double homicide. They want to ensure all the facts are right before closing the case, as there’s a possibility of an unseen third party being involved.
2021 Was The Best In 50 Years

The Tampa Bay Times reported Florida’s crime rate reduced in 2021 to an all-time low in 50-years. It dropped by 8.3 percent compared to the 2020 report and violent crimes made up 4.3 percent of that figure.
Crime Report In Florida May Increase

Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean crime in the state is completely gone as more news like the double-homicide keep pouring in daily.
Teamwork Would Lead To Success

If the residents take Judd’s advice and trade violent responses for amicable resolutions, then, the 2023 report may become the best yet.
