Losing a pet can be one of the hardest things to go through, no matter how old you are or how many times you’ve gone through it before. It always helps to have friends and family around you to support you during the loss.
Jennifer Aniston recently lost her dog, Dolly.

Dolly was a white German Shepherd, and had been with Jennifer since sometimes around 2005. She was named after the great country singer, Dolly Parton.
Both Dollys met at one point.

When Jennifer was on Jimmy Kimmel Live , Jennifer said, “”It kinda came out that she was like, ‘I know when [Jennifer] said, you know, ‘I named my dog Dolly after you,’ I don’t know how I felt about that,'” Aniston, 50, recalled Parton admitting. “And I was like, ‘Oh God. I’ve insulted her.'”
“So, I guess I slightly offended her.”

Aniston added. “I just think it’s cute. She’s so sweet.”
Luckily, Dolly wasn’t offended. When she stopped by The Talk , the singer said, “”I went up to her house for dinner… and so I said, ‘I want to meet Dolly Parton!'”
“I got to meet the dog and it was embarrassing kinda because there were several people there.”

“I’d hear her say, ‘Dolly, don’t pee on the couch! Don’t be knocking the water bowl over.'”
A familiar battle cry for all dog owners.
Unfortunately, after a long and happy life, Dolly the German Shepherd passed away this week.

Jennifer’s ex, Justin Theroux, shared a touching series of photos of Dolly’s final days to his Instagram page, writing, “Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle… our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield.”
Justin included this shot of hands grasping each other.

It’s assumed that these hands are Justin and Jennifer’s, since they were co-owners of Dolly from 2011 until their recent break up.
Courteney Cox left a sweet comment in support of her friends.

Her comment said, “We love you dolly” and included two broken heart emojis.
Rest in peace, Dolly.
