There’s a universal saying that goes, “love finds you when you least expect it.” But, when you find that one special someone to truly fall head over heels with—you just know.
Some love stories are so moving, the moment we read them, we can’t help but wish that we could watch it on the big screen in an epic blockbuster rom-com.
Recently, a Twitter thread from one man went viral after he decided to share his love story.

With social media being so accessible, people find it comforting to share intimate and personal details with the world online. Twitter user Matt, who also calls himself the Sixth Form Poet, decided to share his love story online.
The love story has now been shared on Twitter over 250,000 times.

The love story begins unlike any other. In fact, it starts with death. While most people aren’t exactly looking for love while mourning the loss of someone close to us, it seems as though Matt was in the right place at the right time.
Matt explained that after his father died, he frequently visited his grave.

His father was buried in a small village in Sussex and Matt would go to the cemetery to visit his father a lot, as the two had a close relationship.
Every time he would go, he would bring flowers to put on his grave.

Matt also added that he would go with his mother, who also brought flowers for both his father’s grave and his grandparent’s grave, too. The entire family’s gravesite looked like a flower shop.
One day Matt noticed the man buried next to his father never had any flowers.

After visiting dozens of times, he noticed that the man who was buried next to his father never had flowers on his grave. Then, Matt began supplying flowers for a man he “never even met.”
The two developed a private “bond,” even in the afterlife.

Matt joked that he had developed a “private joke” with himself, as he would bring flowers to the man’s grave all of the time. He even thought of this man as his friend, despite not knowing him when he was alive.
Matt began to wonder if they had met, or if they had some sort of connection.

After bringing flowers for so long, his mind began to wonder— did the two actually meet in real life? Once, maybe twice? Did they cross paths at all? So, he decided to Google the man in question.
Turns out, the guy wasn’t such a great person—in fact, he was a stone-cold killer.

Matt discovered the guy never had flowers on his grave because he was a murderer. That’s right—he killed his wife and her parents on Christmas Day before he decided to jump in front of a train and kill himself, too.
Clearly, Matt had a serious moment of “OMG” after finding out this information.

He began to look back on all of the times he had spent money on flowers and left them at this man’s grave, feeling bad for someone who had murdered his entire family.
Being the nice guy that he is, Matt felt he owed the man’s wife and her parents an apology.

Saving his money on flowers for a killer, Matt decided he had to find their graves and issue them all apologies for being so kind to their murderer all of this time.
So, he did his research and found their graves.

Going above and beyond, he brought flowers for all three of the deceased. But, while doing this, he was greeted by someone who he least expected — the woman’s niece, who wondered who the heck he was.
Instead of running away, he explained the situation—and asked her out.

Matt explained to the woman exactly what happened—trying to avenge his guilt. She did think it was weird, but she also accepted his invitation for a drink. Turns out, the two fell madly in love.
As the story is seriously rare and unique, people online were totally obsessed.

People on Twitter were baffled by how the ending went— the two ended up getting married after one of the strangest meetings of all time. Seriously, who knew that simply visiting your dead relative would bring you to meet your soulmate?
Many began to suggest that the story should be made into a movie.

Obviously, the movie writes itself. Although, if we just focused on the cemetery story, it would be a rather short film. Regardless, it’s an iconic screenplay just waiting to happen.
One person even suggested the perfect title.

One person began to suggest titles for the romantic movie, and before long, many others online added on to the title brainstorm—such as the classic “Four Funerals and a Wedding.”
But, in the end, the biggest takeaway from this love story is simple:

You truly find love when you least expect it. Matt was simply trying to do the right thing and had no idea he would end up falling for someone in a cemetery. You just never know.
