Comedian and actor Andy D**k, who is most well-known for his work on NewsRadio, Less Than Perfect, and The Andy D**k Show , was involved in an altercation outside a comedy club on August 10th. Surveillance camera footage had recorded part of the incident.
A man was arrested for reportedly punching the comedian and knocking him unconscious, which can be seen in the video footage.
D**k told The Times-Picayune that he was “knocked out 100% for 15 minutes” and was taken immediately to a hospital to be treated for a possible brain bleed.
Now the man arrested for the attack is alleging that it was in retaliation for D**k groping him.
A law enforcement source told The Times-Picayune that the attacker claims that the comedian had grabbed his g******s before he struck. The man claims when he became angry at the alleged groping, D**k winked at him, which provoked the man into punching him.
A representative for D**k claims that this is untrue and the attack was unprovoked.
The attacker “doesn’t have a straight story,” the rep said. “He’s told several different stories.” Currently, the police involved have not accused D**k of any wrong-doing, while the attacker faces one count each of second-degree battery and simple battery.
It has also been alleged that the attack also punched a second man after walking away from D**k.
No bail amount has currently been set for the attacker at the time of publication, and no court date has been set.
