This Halloween, two college students dressed up in costumes inspired by the American rapper Diddy’s criminal charges while also using blackface as part of the costume.
Along with the offensive blackface, the students referred to the rapper’s crimes as a supposed joke within their couple’s costumes. The two’s behavior was cause for concern and heavy criticism by many people across the internet as well as their university.

Diddy is charged with several crimes
American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being charged with various crimes.
Of those crimes are s*x trafficking, racketeering and transportation of people with the aim of engaging in prostitution.
Charges against Combs are alarming
The charges against Combs come with disturbing details including those of organizing and hosting parties that hold strict requirements for attending girls.
There have also been numerous allegations against him regarding sexual misconduct as well as charges of disturbing message exchanges with women.

Combs is also facing multiple allegations which have been put to him through a series of lawsuits, along with the charges he is already detained for.
The most recent lawsuit against him became known to the public on October 20.
Combs is in police custody
The American rapper is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center after having been arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan, New York.
Combs is currently in his cell awaiting trial after having been denied bail more than once.
This caught the public’s attention
Such serious charges and allegations have naturally stirred up a lot of feelings and statements from the public.
Many are keeping an eye, among other issues, on the serious matters of sexual assault and s*x trafficking that were brought up.
Two students used this in wrongful ways
The talk and popularity around Combs’ charges and allegations inspired two college students to use the topic for their Halloween costumes.
In a TikTok video that has now been deleted, the two individuals appeared dressed as Diddy and a bottle of baby oil.
The costumes were in reference to his charges
The man in the TikTok was white, wearing a dark blazer and red bowtie. He spread a product on his face that could only be interpreted as blackface.
The woman next to him was wearing a pink sweatshirt with the logo of the oil brand Johnson’s Baby on it.
The student’s Halloween costume referred to evidence
The girl’s costume was in reference to the approximate amount of 1000 bottles of baby oil that were revealed by the Southern District of New York (SDNY) to have been found in Sean Combs’ houses in Los Angeles and Miami.
The students were slammed for this behavior
When people saw the costumes, they took to criticizing the blackface done by one of the students and the belittling of the situation by both.
One person said, “The blackface is disgusting. And doing this as if what Diddy is accused of is some big joke is [grimace emoji].”
The student’s university responded
The TikTok video and the account that posted it have both been deleted, but the account’s owner was believed to be a student at San Diego State University (SDSU) in California.
The university has since issued a statement on tracking information regarding the students and refuting the use of blackface and downplay of assault.
