People on Instagram and Pinterest make hoarding plants look so easy. You collect ’em, throw some soil into pots, plant ’em, water them a few times, and that’s it.
Once you actually own plants, you know it isn’t actually all that simple! One thing I was most surprised to learn about plant care is that, once they reach a certain size, they gotta find a bigger home, and there is nothing more annoying, tedious, messy, and stressful than trying to re-pot a plant.
Design house Studio Ayaskan wants to make us mediocre plant parents’ lives easier.

They developed an origami-inspired planter called GROWTH, which grows and expands with your plant as it grows itself.
No matter what stage your plant is in, the design of planter is super sleek and minimal, making it no problem to adapt to your home’s aesthetic.

“Growth arose from a contemplation over the relationship between nature and the manufactured object and finding a way to merge the two together,” the description reads .
The planter is meant to mimic the various stages of growth that a plant experiences.

It’s a super neat idea, to say the least!
With a planter like this, you can do what you do best: hoard plants and not worry about them outgrowing their homes.

It seems that this planter is simply a project at this point and not available on the market, but we certainly hope they make it available for purchase before all our plants die!
