If you were to ask me to name my favorite celebrity couple in Hollywood, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend would be very high up on my list.
No, they wouldn’t be first, because very few people can compete with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, and I’m sure that even Chrissy knows this.
Still, these two continue to make me laugh, and I admire the support they have for each other on a daily basis, even when Chrissy is being sassy.
If for whatever reason you’re reading this article and have no idea who Chrissy Teigen is, let me help you out real quick.
All you really need to know about her is that she’s a model, mother, co-host of Lip Sync Battle , has two cookbooks out, and she is the queen of firing back at trolls online.
Oh! And she’s married to musician John Legend.
She’s the one who his famous song, “All of Me,” is about. That’s right, all the credit goes to Chrissy for that bop.
Chrissy and John seem to be pretty open about their relationship when it comes to social media.
They’re often posting about each other or talking about their private lives in interviews, with seemingly zero shame.
I know more about their love life than I know about my own — it’s kind of weird, but whatever.
We know that the two met on the set of John’s music video way back in the day.
And we know that Chrissy had a jealousy-fueled meltdown after she thought that John was flirting with another model on the set of a different music video.
See? I told you she doesn’t hold back about a lot of things, and it’s great.
It’s also very clear that Chrissy is super proud of John and all of his accomplishments.
You should have seen her when he was nominated for an Emmy . She was so convinced that he was going to earn the EGOT title (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony award).
She didn’t doubt it for a second, and sure enough, he won.
And they went home and celebrated with pancakes.
I was a little jealous, if I’m being totally honest. Not even because of the EGOT thing, but because those pancakes look amaze .
Another thing we know about Chrissy is that she is far from shy about responding to comments on Instagram.
Especially if they’re r**e. She doesn’t tolerate anyone’s shade, not even for a second, which really makes her stand out from the herd of other celebrities who just ignore the comments on their social media.
Like that time somebody actually had the nerve to tell her that her haircut didn’t look good.
I mean, really. Did they think Chrissy was going to take kindly to a comment like that? Obviously not.
Anyway, just the other day, John posted a photo to his Instagram.
It was a pretty cute picture of Chrissy, their two kids (Luna and Miles), and Pepper just hanging around.
For the record, Pepper is Chrissy’s mother.
From what we can tell on social media, Pepper is actually super cool and we love that she makes appearances all the time.
Even though we thought the picture was perfectly fine, Chrissy did not.
As soon as she saw that John had shared it, she called him out for not asking for photo approval.
Which only makes me examine the photo even more, looking for some sort of flaw — which there clearly wasn’t.
Obviously, John is very much used to Chrissy’s sass and responded to her in the most adorable way ever.
And you know, something tells me that he really did ask little Luna for permission before sharing this pic, and she probably thought that she looked fabulous in it.
I couldn’t resist looking back to the other pictures that John has shared of Chrissy in the past.
And they’re all so flawless, which suddenly makes a lot more sense. I’d love to see the camera roll of pictures Chrissy has rejected in the past, I’m sure its gold.
Kidding, I’m sure it’s full of photos that are just as fabulous and flawless.
This is why these two top my list of favorite couples. Just look at them!
Are you looking???
Of course, this Instagram reply is just one example of how Chrissy isn’t afraid to sass her husband.
Her Twitter is honestly a goldmine of at least semi-savage rants and complaints directed at John, and it’s so great.
There was the time when John was apparently taking all the phone chargers with him when he went on the road.
And this was NOT at all okay with Chrissy.
But who can blame her? I’m sure that publicly shaming him like this was the only way to get him to listen. Good for you, Chrissy.
Plus, she hasn’t complained about any missing chargers since.
So obviously her tactic worked — and it’s a free pass to complain about John whenever she wants, and he can’t do a thing about it.
There was also the time she tweeted about one of John’s photos making it to the popular page on Instagram.
Telling us to raise our like standards is a real mood. Something tells me that the “terrible” photo John shared was NOT of her this time.
Oh, and let’s not forget the time Chrissy called John out for wearing sandals.
Because let’s face it, no men look good wearing sandals. Don’t @ me over this, I know what I’m talking about, okay?
She even hopped aboard the troll train when everyone was joking that John looked just like the cartoon character, Arthur.
She even shared a picture of Luna with an Arthur doll and captioned it, “Luna and daddy.”
Honestly, she’s the comedy queen we all deserve.
Despite constantly dragging John on social media, Chrissy is also really supportive — when she wants to be.
I mean, basically the only reason I know that John is coming out with a Christmas album is because Chrissy has been posting about it nonstop.
And you know that very few relationships in Hollywood last as long as John and Chrissy’s has, so they must be doing something right.
Maybe this means I need to be sassing my boyfriend more?
That, or Chrissy just isn’t on board with how much divorce paperwork there is.
And that’s a valid point. Why isn’t it all done online these days? That would make the dissolution of a marriage WAY easier.
Look at me, so innovative.
Anyway, this concludes why I think Chrissy and John are sitting at my third-favorite Hollywood couple.
I know I said Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are my number one, but Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are in second — only because they’re the opposite of Chrissy and John and are super private about their marriage, and that’s nice too.
Chrissy, if you’re reading this, please don’t savage tweet me! I mean no harm.
