The holiday season is a time when many families gather together to celebrate and spend quality time. It’s a time that many individuals look forward to simply because being together is something that doesn’t happen very often. Families spend tons of time in the kitchen prepping and preparing meals and decorating their homes to make the time extra special.
However, with most families, getting together brings forth a ton of drama and problems. Sometimes, being together with your entire family can cause a bit of tension and stress. Not everyone has a holly jolly holiday season when the family is involved.
One Reddit User Shared The Drama that Happened With Their Sister for their Family Dinner

The Reddit User Shared That He Warned His Sister About His Rule
The Reddit user shared that every year, he switches off hosting with his sister so that their whole family can come and enjoy the holiday. However, his sister has two teenage daughters, ages 15 and 18, who are very picky eaters. Every year, she comes to his house when he hosts with a box of pasta and a bag of frozen chicken nuggets, as this is all they eat. While it seems like it’s fine, the Reddit user shared it’s not fine because his sister takes up ample space in the kitchen while he is trying to cook an entire family dinner.
This year, he decided to tell his sister beforehand he wouldn’t be allowing her to cook in the kitchen for her two daughters while he is trying to prepare an entire dinner. His sister knew beforehand but didn’t seem to prepare for her two kids. At dinner, the girls only ate bread and butter and complained about how “gross” the food looked. His sister was rather annoyed over her brother’s choices.
People Online Argued That At 15 and 18, They Should Be Eating More

Many online argued that the Reddit user is not in the wrong for the way he handled the situation. If the sister knew beforehand (which she did), there were many ways to handle the situation. She could have fed her children before they came to the party, or packed something that did not require cooking to eat—like sandwiches or cold food.
At the end of the day, the two kids are not really “kids.” They are teenagers who should step out of their comfort zone and try new foods.
