When it comes to being a guest, or even a part, of someone’s wedding , there are some rules that are unspoken but well known . One of those rules is that you don’t wear a wedding dress to a wedding that is not your own. Some even go as far as saying wearing white is totally off the table when attending a wedding.
There is one thing about weddings that everyone knows.
You don’t wear white to the wedding.
And an unspoken rule that people know is that you most definitely shouldn’t wear a wedding dress to a wedding, right?
Well, apparently not.
Everyone knows it’s pretty r**e to do so.
So, how would you feel if your future MIL was going to wear a wedding dress to your wedding? Probably pretty angry and embarrassed, right? Well, one soon-to-be bride is dealing with it, big time.
The Imgur user shared photos and texts between her and her future MIL.
She told Imgur users she is at a “loss for words” as she found out her future MIL had gotten a dress for her November 2022 wedding, stating that she hadn’t even gone dress shopping yet.
So, she decided to text her MIL and ask to see the dress, rather nicely.
The MIL said she had “already seen the dress before,” and sent her a photo.
That is a full-blown, full-on wedding dress.
Not just a white dress to wear to her son’s wedding, but she wants to wear her own wedding dress to her son’s wedding.
I just can’t stop shaking my head and laughing. She can’t be serious.
The future bride was still very nice to her (despite the MIL totally not deserving it).
The bride basically said, very politely, that she would help her MIL go find a dress that goes with the colors they had planned for the wedding party, rather than her show up in a wedding dress at her own son’s wedding.
Instead, the MIL went OFF.
The MIL decided to turn the conversation into a p*****g contest about how much money she is putting up for the wedding, even calling the bride’s family “poor.”
She also said that she won’t “dare” ruin the moment for her.
The bride reached out to her fiancé, who was very understanding.
Her fiancé agreed that his mother was way out of line and even said it’s a “demon in her skin.”
He said that he was even surprised and supported his fiancé for her feelings, validating them and saying he loves her.
Which obviously, is amazing to hear.
But unfortunately, life isn’t a walk in the park, and this continued to go downhill, even after she thought it would improve.
But, that also backfired on the bride, too.
The MIL was angry that her son called her out for wanting to wear the dress—and, he even told his mom what she did was horrible. He said she was being disrespectful, too.
But, the mom just got on the bride’s case for “disrespecting” her and her family.
Many online said that the bride should “let her do it.”
Many said that the bride should “use it to her advantage” to make her MIL look like a fool.
Why do they suggest that?
Well, people are suggesting that everyone at the wedding will think she is “unstable” for wearing a wedding dress to someone else’s wedding, even her son’s.
But, other’s said to RUN, fast.
Many online said that she should run—fast. Some said that when you marry someone, you also marry their family.
Which, honestly, is a good point. People come with other people.
Now, we want to hear from you.
What do you think about this whole situation? Who do you think is in the right?
Let us know down below in the comment section! We would love to hear from you.
So people pointed out that if the MIL can do this now, who knows how long she will try to do things to them.
What a crazy story—we hope the bride accidentally set the MIL’s dress on fire. Accidentally.
