Homeschooling is never an easy task for parents. It’s hard for kids to pay attention — even in a school setting— but having them at home is another challenge.
One mom found out the hard way that homeschooling can pose a new set of troubles, especially when your child is a curious boy. This little one did something so unexpected, nobody could’ve predicted it at all.
Cinamon Contreras, a mom from Texas, got a rude awakening when her son managed to get his head stuck in his school chair.

Contreras’ son, Colton, is a bouncy six-year-old who already has trouble sitting still.
How did this happen? According to Contreras, her son decided to take a “short cut” to pick up a dropped marker.
About 90 minutes into his online class, Contreras had to step away.

So, she left her daughter in charge and thought nothing of it. She was only gone for about 10 minutes when she got a call from her daughter.
Her daughter told her that Colton got his head stuck in his school chair and couldn’t get it out.

The little girl called 911 for help. Contreas rushed home to find her son looking like this and not feeling too happy about it.
It looks like homeschooling may not be his thing after all.

To top it off, this was only his second day of virtual schooling, too. To me, that doesn’t sound like a promising start to the school year.
When the first responders arrived they tried numerous ways to get Colton’s head out of the chair.

They almost had to use a saw to cut the back of the chair but instead, the tried and true bolt cutters did the trick.
It looks like the old school chair the mom got for her son to help with homeschooling didn’t work out as well as she had hoped.

It actually became a hazard. I guess this is what happens when you have a child who’s too antsy and not used to virtual learning.
Because of all of this, Colton got to hang out with some firefighters and check out their fire truck.

This probably made up for all the anxiety he must’ve felt being stuck in the chair for some time.
“I think it’s safe to say he’d rather have his head stuck in a chair than watch another educational video,” Contreras said in a Facebook post.
So, what’s Contreas’ advice to other moms with boys?

Make sure you take safety seriously as she does. But even when you do, “boys will be boys,” as they say, and unpredictable things can still happen. She definitely didn’t expect this situation.
Oh my goodness, that’s quite a funny story. Isn’t it?
It just goes to show you that even when you think your kids are okay, strange things can happen. You gotta be prepared for anything when you’re a mom. Isn’t that the truth?
