A 13-year-old boy has been arrested following the death of a 12-year-old boy who fell off playground equipment at a park in England.
The boy died on Friday
12-year-old Logan Carter died on Friday, August 29, after an incident took place at the Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, a town in Cheshire, UK.
According to a news release by Cheshire Constabulary on August 31, this happened around 6:11 p.m. local time.
Police are looking into the cause of death
In a statement shared to People, Cheshire Constabulary said that police are looking into whether the boy might have died after an e-bike was propelled into a merry-go-round at the park.
They added that a 13-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was released under investigation
The statement from Cheshire Constabulary added that the 13-year-old has since been released under investigation.
The teenager’s arrest would have been ‘shortly after the incident occurred’ per a police spokesperson who didn’t say the exact time of arrest.
The investigation is ongoing

In a statement, police said, “Investigations are ongoing and officers are currently exploring a number of lines of enquiry in order to fully establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
Reports of the e-bike are being looked into
“As part of this, officers are exploring reports that an e-bike was used to propel a children’s roundabout in the park at around the time of the incident occurring,” the police statement went on.
Logan’s family also released a statement

In a statement previously released by police, the 12-year-old boy’s family said, “Logan was a much-loved Son, Brother, Grandson, Great Grandson, Cousin and friend to many. He had an infectious personality and a beautiful smile.”
“Everyone wanted to be where Logan was. He was a little boy who was so full of life and wanted to make everyone laugh,” they added.
They will miss him dearly
“He made every day worth living. Logan was everyone’s therapy person, their calm and he will be missed more than we can ever put into words,” the family continued, per the release.
“We are taking comfort from the words of support we have received whilst we take time to come to terms with the untimely loss of our blue-eyed boy.”
