There’s no denying the people love the musical power couple of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The pair have been together for five years and just recently got engaged!
While most fans are supportive of the pairing, others aren’t too impressed. This became clear on Sunday night when the 44-year-old country singer poked fun at his fiancée while accepting his People’s Choice Award. Soon after accepting his award, Blake took to Instagram live to clap back at the haters.

For those of you who don’t know, MAJOR drama started on social media on Sunday night after Blake made a joke about Gwen’s relevancy while accepting his People’s Choice Award for Top Country Artist.
“Wow. This is crazy. This is absolutely insane,” Shelton said. “I’m so happy that we’re able to have this award show in spite of everything,” the 44-year-old began .
“Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani. That’s S-t-e-f-a-n-i, if you need to Google it to figure out who she is,” he laughed.
This joke sparked major backlash on social media, with fans being angry that Blake insinuated people wouldn’t know who his very successful fiancée was.
Soon after stepping off stage, Blake began seeing the hate comments poor in on social media.
Instead of ignoring the hate, Blake took to Gwen’s Instagram live to call people out for being “stupid.”
“People are so stupid, and born without a sense of humor anymore,” said Blake.
“I’m scared,” Gwen replied.
He then proceeded to read tweets from people in a fake country accent while Gwen awkwardly laughed along.
“I’m just trying to put the dumbest accent on as I can because these people take it literally, like denseness to the next level.”
“Did people lose their sense of humor in the last year? Grow one. If you don’t like it, shut the [expletive] up,” he concluded.
The 51-year-old quickly ended the live stream after he cursed, telling him he could speak like that on his own IG live.
Needless to say, many fans found the live stream *super* uncomfortable.
“That’s right, Gwen. Wash his mouth out with soap,” tweeted one fan.
