The internet has been divided on any number of hot topics. Is the dress blue and black or white and gold? Do you hear “Yanny” or “Laurel”? Does pineapple belong on a pizza? (Let me get that one for you. The answer is a hard no.)
You may or may not be aware, however, that for years, the dark corners of the internet have been engaged in a heated battle about what could be the fast food industry’s most divisive debate: should Wendy’s fries be dipped in a Frosty?
A Frosty is just basically really soft, melted ice cream.
You can get either vanilla or chocolate — although the “chocolate” is really a mix of chocolate and vanilla, which gives it its light flavor.
And Wendy’s fries are, well, pretty standard French fries.
Although some would argue that theirs are better than your average fast food fry, since the chain keeps the skin on their potatoes and dresses them with sea salt.
Put the two together, however, and apparently you have a winning combo.
Or at least that’s what the overwhelming feeling is on social media. The argument is that the hot fries mixed with the cold Frosty make for the ultimate sweet and salty treat. And I guess it does add up, considering we already know that a sprinkling of sea salt on chocolate amplifies the body’s ability to taste the sweetness .
A lot of the conversation about this on Twitter is punctuated with the crying emoji.
So, you know, this is serious, life-altering business.
While others are taking a more matter-of-fact approach.
This may be hard for some to hear, but I genuinely believe it’s coming from a good place.
There have also been suggestions to make this a combo option on the menu.
I mean, I guess it makes sense to make this a deal if everyone’s doing it anyway.
This practice does have its detractors, but they’re few and far between.
Personally, I’ve never indulged in this mix. How about you? Would you (or do you) dip your Wendy’s fries in your Frosty? Let us know in the comments.
