Ahhhhhhh, nostalgia. She has been showing up a lot these days, especially in pop culture, and it looks like we’re about to get another healthy dose as the beloved ’90s book series Animorphs is getting a MOVIE!
If you didn’t read Animorphs as a kid, you missed out on a cultural reset in the literary world that left The Magic Treehouse shaking.
The *Animorphs* book series follows five teens who can morph into any animal they touch. I know, right?! WACKY!

But as kids, we went nuts for that! And it seems that as adults, we also go nuts for it as news of the Animorphs film is making it’s way around Twitter and the people are jazzed AF!
It’s safe to say the people have BEEN waiting for this announcement!
The Animorphs film adaptation will be produced by Scholastic Entertainment’s Lole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman and Picturestart’s Erik Feig and Lucy Kitada!
Friedman and Picturestart’s Royce Reeves Darby will be overseeing the script, as Animorphs joins other Scholastic adaptations that include Goosebumps (Sony) and Clifford The Big Red Dog (Paramount), which are set to be released later this year!
With over 35 MILLION *Animorph* books in print, I think this movie will be a ~smash~ success.

“The central themes of Animorphs have resonated strongly with kids for more than two decades, and the time is right for a feature film that takes this captivating sci-fi adventure to another level for audiences today,” said Lucchese.
They continued: “Picturestart has an incredible track record of success, and Erik and his team are the perfect partners to help bring this exciting new series based on the adventure-packed books to movie screens.”
