We all have a pair of dark black jeans that we absolutely love. However, once we wash them a few times, they sometimes get a little faded and washed out.
Taking care of our jeans is something that everyone strives to learn to do. Making sure the color stays and doesn’t fade is sometimes a little complicated . Luckily people online are here to help us out.
Instagram user Carolina Mccauley shares tons of home hacks on her Instagram page.

From how to clean linens to how to organize pantries, Carolina shares tons of home hacks that we can all use in our own lives.
She showcases through videos just how to take care of everything from A-Z in our home.
In a recent video, Carolina shared how to care for black jeans.

In the video, Carolina showcased that the way in which we are probably caring for our jeans now is not the way that we should be caring for our jeans.
Most of us wash them the same as we would wash the rest of our clothing.
First, you should always wash your jeans inside out.

Washing your black jeans inside out will ensure that the color won’t wash or fade.
InStyle shares the same sentiment that washing your jeans inside out makes sure that you won’t get the color from touching the oils of your skin and whatnot.
Don’t use fabric softener!

Instead of using fabric softener, Carolina says to replace it with vinegar. Fabric softener can oftentimes make the color pull from the jeans.
While you want your jeans to be soft, the color is the most important part.
Also, add 1 teaspoon of salt to the load.

Adding salt to the load actually helps to keep the dye in your jeans. Apparently , saltwater works by absorbing excess or loose dye, preventing that dye from being released by the jeans.
That way, there are no problems with running black dye.
Make sure you only ash your jeans with dark colors.

Washing your jeans with other dark colors (black clothes mostly) will make sure that your jeans stay black but also so that any excess dye doesn’t run on your light-colored shirts, pants, or other clothing (white specifically).
Make sure to wash with cold water, too.

Washing your clothes in colr water helps to prevent the shrinking of fabrics and also the fading of colors.
Hot water tends to strip clothing of colors and dyes. So, keep it cold for those black jeans.
In addition, Carolina has other hacks to wash and keep things looking brand new.
For example, to keep your carpet smelling fresh and clean, all you need to do is create a baking soda mixture to vacuum with.
Mix baking soda with your favorite essential oil and sprinkle it onto your carpet. Then, let it sit, then vacuum.
To keep your towels soft, you can also follow Carolina’s hacks.
To make your towels soft again, Carolina says to wash them separately. Also, make sure you go easy on your detergent.
Use vinegar again, instead of fabric softener. And, wash on medium heat.
If you ever have a coffee stain on your clothes, you can also get it out.
Carolina says that if you do spill coffee on a shirt or a clothing item, it’s not terrible.
Take your coffee-stained item and put it in a bowl of hot water, then put baking soda in it, and vinegar.
You can also get wrinkles out of your clothes without ironing them.
In a spray bottle, mix water, vinegar, and surprisingly hair conditioner. You put it in a small spray bottle and spray it on your shirt where there are wrinkles and smooth it out.
Before you know it, there are no more wrinkles.
