Although the rise of online retailers have made our holiday shopping significantly easier, it’s definitely worth remembering that there are real people behind that package that arrived on your doorstep in two days.
One woman recently decided to show her appreciation for all those hardworking delivery men and women bringing packages to her home by leaving a basket of tasty snacks on her front stoop for them to choose from.

While this idea alone is incredibly touching, her doorbell cam’s footage of one delivery man’s reaction to finding the free treats makes this story even more wholesome. To say he was happy is a bit of an understatement.
Delaware homeowner Kathy Ouma lovingly put together the basket of goodies so that any delivery people visiting her front step could grab a snack for the road.
Inside the plastic bin was a variety of sweet and savory treats to choose from, as well as some refreshing beverages to wash them all down with.
Kathy even included a note to let those delivery people know that yes, the snacks are for them to take, and also thanked them “for making holiday shopping easy.”
One Amazon delivery man was recently dropping off a package to Kathy’s home when he spied the snacks.
Captured on the home’s Ring doorbell camera, the man becomes visibly excited after reading the note and learning he has his pick of the treats.
As he approaches the chair where the basket is placed, the man can be heard saying, “Oh, this is nice!”
He begins sifting through the various packets, clearly in awe of Kathy’s generous offerings, and exclaims, “Ah, they got some goodies!”
He helps himself to a few snacks to enjoy on his route, as per Kathy’s suggestion, and says, “Oh, this is sweet! Oh, wow, get out of here!”
The delighted man then turns and does an adorable celebratory dance as he heads back to his truck.
Kathy shared the full video to her Facebook page where she wrote that she makes sure to leave delivery people a little basket of goodies every single year.
In a recent update, she added that she has since learned the man’s name is Karim Earl Reed III and wrote, “You are bringing millions of people joy!”

Kathy’s video was posted on December 2 and has since gone viral, amassing over 5.6 million views in just a few days.
The post , which includes a close-up photo of the basket of treats and an above-shot of Reed picking out his road snacks, has been shared more than 250,000 times and has over 87,000 reactions.
In the comments, many people are commending Kathy for her generosity during the busy holiday season.
“You are one of the most selfless people I know,” one person wrote. “I absolutely love your heart.”
Another added, “This is great, so thoughtful of you and he clearly appreciated your generosity from those dance moves!”
Others have shared that they plan on following Kathy’s lead and leaving out their own basket of treats for their local drivers.
“I’m going to steal your idea,” one user commented. “Thank you for doing this.”
Someone else added, “I have started a basket to set up now too!”
The viral video certainly proves that even the simplest of gestures can mean the world to someone.
Personally, after watching it myself, I feel compelled to do the same for my own delivery people because I order so much around Christmas time that all those men and women working their butts off to get me my packages deserve a little something sweet for their trouble!
