Right, well, today we’re going to be picking apart a trailer for the new Breaking Bad movie.
Maybe we’ll find some secrets, most likely we’ll develop a whole bunch of theories.
So it looks like ‘Breaking Bad’ is getting a movie

And there was much rejoicing.
So, in the spirit of being super obsessive, I have personally combed every frame of the trailer to find some hidden references. Check it out!
1. The Title

While yes, the name Breaking Bad: El Camino is a cool title, where did it come from?
Did they just pull it out of their rear ends because it sounds sweet?
The Title (CONT)

Nope! It’s actually a reference to the 1978 El Camino Jesse escapes in at the end of the series.
Originally, the El Camino belonged to Todd. The first shot of the trailer, we see Jesse hiding in it.
2. Jesse’s New(ish) look

I bet you’re wondering why Jesse is covered in scars, has a long beard and some long hair to boot.
Is it just a look for the ladies? Is he trying to get back into the dating game?
Jesse’s New(ish) look (CONT)

Well, this movie takes place right after Walter saved Jesse from the white supremacist gang who kidnapped him and forced him to make meth for them.
So that’s the look they were forcing him to have.
3. The First Knock

You’re on the run from white supremacists and the law, where’s the first place you go?
To your best pal’s house, of course! Your parents aren’t going to get this one!
The First Knock (CONT)

And that’s the first person we see besides Jesse, Skinny Pete. Jesse knocks on his door, presumably to get some help.
Skinny Pete is also with Badger, another friend of Jesse’s.
4. Jesse Hits The Showers

After a long stint of being forced to make meth for a bunch of dirty white supremacists, you may feel a little dirty yourself.
So, understandably, Jesse hits the showers in the trailer.
Jesse Hits The Showers (CONT)

We see blood going down the drain, and this could actually be a reference to something.
Specifically, it may be a reference to Psycho , in the scene where Marion Crane was murdered.
5. Skinny Pete Talks To The Cops

At one point in the trailer, we see that Skinny Pete is talking to the cops. Is he snitching, we ask ourselves?
Or is he protecting his boy, as a good boy should?
Skinny Pete Talks To The Cops (CONT)

He’s protecting his boy! He tells the low-life pigs that “he has no idea” where “he” is, and we can assume that “he” is Jesse.
It’s either he’s protecting him, or Jesse hasn’t shown up at his house yet.
6. Jesse Goes To The River

Next, we see that Jesse is hanging out by a riverbank.
Fun fact: this is actually the river where Walt shot Mike. Hm… actually, that doesn’t seem like that much fun.
Jesse Goes To The River (CONT)

As you know, Jesse and Mike shared a pseudo father and son relationship during the course of the series.
It seems, that in this movie, Jesse is imagining that Mike is still alive.
Here’s the trailer:
Do some combing for yourself, trust me, it’s so satisfying once you find something and you can brag about it on the internet.
Let us know if you found any more little references in this thing!
