Actor and LGBTQ+ activist Elliot Page is gracing the cover of Time magazine and opening up about what his transition means to himself and to his fans. In the new interview, he tells the publication what it means for him to be an activist.
Reflecting on his childhood, Elliot told the publication that he “felt like a boy.”
“I wanted to be a boy. I would ask my mom if I could be someday.”

He became a professional actor at the age of 10, which meant his beloved short haircut needed to be swapped.
“Of course I had to look a certain way.”
As fans may recall, Elliot came out as transgender in December 2020.
While discussing the days leading up to his emotional Instagram post, he said: “This feeling of true excitement and deep gratitude to have made it to this point in my life mixed with a lot of fear and anxiety.”
“What I was anticipating was a lot of support and love and a massive amount of hatred and transphobia,” explained Elliot. “That’s essentially what happened.”
He went on to recall the pain he felt when his existence was being questioned.
“Extremely influential people are spreading these myths and damaging rhetoric—every day you’re seeing our existence debated,” Elliot recalled.
“Transgender people are so very real.”
