Chances are at some point in your life, you’ve dreamed of owning your own tropical island, the sort of place where you can roam freely, sink your feet into warm sand whenever you want, and not have to worry about running into anybody you don’t want to.
And if you live in a northern climate, where you have to shovel your driveway to get to work every few days, well, that kind of getaway is doubly appealing.
But of course, private islands don’t come up for sale every day. So when they do, it’s a good opportunity to do some daydreaming.
But hey, if you happen to have $19.5 million chilling in your bank account, this might be more than just a daydream.

That’s right, there’s a private island in The Bahamas up for sale — and honestly, with an asking price of $19.5 million, St. Andrew’s, aka Little Ragged Island, is priced to move.
We’re talking about 730 acres of white sand beaches, crystal blue waters, and year-round sun and warmth.
Just look at this place.

Okay, so it doesn’t have a golf resort or a swim-up bar or any of that — or even a luxurious villa from which to oversee your island paradise. At least, not yet.
That’s the lure the agency in charge of selling the island, Concierge Auctions, hopes buyers will latch onto: opportunity.
Even without built-up amenities, St. Andrew’s has a lot going for it.

Ample fresh spring water being a big one, as well as deep water access for, say, large yacht parking.
“A perfect blank canvas of rolling hills, lignum vitae trees, and calm warm waters begs to be painted with your dream project: a picturesque private residential settlement, a crown jewel of a tropical estate with miles of private beaches to wander, or a boutique resort with more than enough acreage left to add an entire 18-hole golf course,” Concierge Auctions’ website reads.
“The island’s possibilities are as limitless as the Atlantic Ocean surrounding it.”
St. Andrew’s is also in a pretty good neighborhood.

It sits at the end of a 100-mile string of islets, which is indeed remote — finding a cell signal might be a challenge — but it’s also just a 10-minute boat ride from Duncan Town.
It’s also a popular area for snorkelers, divers, and fishermen, as the waters are teeming with grouper, snapper, barracuda, tuna, and kingfish.
So as private islands go, you could do much worse.

Of course, this is a serious inquiries only kind of a deal — if you want to actually bid on St. Andrew’s, you’ll have to back it up with a $100,000 deposit. The auction opens on March 26, so here’s hoping the lottery tickets come through for me. And best of luck to you all as well!
