For many people, Aquaman isn’t just the savior of Atlantis but the entire DCEU as well. The film was a smashing success and gave a much-needed revision to an often neglected DC hero.
Although the film managed to outdo its predecessors at the box office, it also managed to make its fair share of mistakes along the way.

1. What is happening with toddler-Arthur’s hair?
Pay close attention during the scene with Atlanna and Arthur’s father. When the Atlantean soldiers come to take her away, she hands the boy off to his father.
If you look carefully, Arthur’s hair goes from long and curly, to neat and straight in less than 15 seconds.
2. How did Meera manage to change so quickly?
During Meera and Arthur’s entire trip to Sicily, we never once see her wearing her green Atlantean bodysuit. When they leave the island, she’s wearing her surface clothes on the boat.
Yet as soon as the Trench attacks, she’s once again suited-up. How?
3. You’re doing it wrong, Tom!
Take a look during Tom and Atlanna’s meet-cute. Before he sees her body washed ashore, he’s fastening the shutters on his house.
If you look closely, you’ll see he’s tying them down so they stay open. Why on earth would anyone do that?
4. Actually, Arthur has been to Atlantis before!
When Arthur descends the ocean depths to initially challenge for the thrown, his half brother Orm remarks on how Arthur has never been to Atlantis.
This is completely false, considering we saw him visit Atlantis in Justice League to battle Steppenwolf.
5. What’s with all the bubbles?
During the scene with the submarine, did you notice all of the bubbles that were left in the wake of the submarine propeller? This is a huge error.
Submarines are specifically designed to glide through the ocean as silently as possible. A jet-stream of bubbles would be easily detected by sonar.
6. Which direction are Arthur and Meera heading?
Look carefully as Arthur and Meera leave Sicily. Much of their conversation on the boat takes place in the stern and you can clearly see the setting sun behind them.

But during the final shot of the scene, when the camera changes direction, the setting sun is somehow in front of the boat?
7. The Trident of Atlantis was cast — not forged.
When something is cast, metal is heated until it’s molten, then poured into a mold.
Forging enacts both thermal and mechanical energy to transform metal while it remains in a solid-state.
8. Those Bogeys are really Bandits.
While Arthur and Meera make their escape from Atlantis, he yells “Bogeys on our six!” However, this is an incorrect usage of the term.
A Bogey is an unidentified aircraft . What Arthur should have said was “Bandits on our six!” Which is the proper term for a hostile.
9. That submarine should have sank.
Remember when Aquaman raises the submarine to the surface? A pretty heroic feat to say the least — to bad it would have all been for naught.
The ballast tanks would have still been filled with water. It would’ve sunk as soon as he released it.
Also, Arthur made a potentially fatal mistake raising the sub.
He didn’t allow for the people inside to properly acclimate to the difference in pressure!
Ripping off the lid would’ve at best, given everyone inside the bends. Worst case scenario, they’d all be dead.
10. Aquaman is a master at slight-of-hand.
Pay attention as Arthur and Tom sit in the bar drinking their beer. When the story about the submarine comes on the TV, Arthur is spinning his glass.
As the camera cuts, the glass seems to move from his hand to the bar, and back again!
11. What’s happening with Meera’s hair?
This happens while Arthur and Meera are listening to the message of the fallen King Atlan. Before he begins his speech, Meera’s hair is straight.
But by the time Atlan finishes, Meera’s hair has somehow managed to curl itself?!
12. Just keep swimming!
Remember when we see Nereus’ seahorses descend on Orm’s barricade of sharks? Well, if we’re being sticklers for biology — those sharks would’ve been dead!
From the looks of them, they’re clearly Great Whites. A Great White Shark can’t remain stationary. It has to keep swimming, otherwise, it loses the ability to pump oxygen through its body.
13. The history is a bit muddled.
Let’s get something straight here — there’s absolutely no way that a letter written before the Sahara was a desert could possibly refer to some obscure statue of Romulus erected in Sicily.
Not by a long shot.
For one thing, the Sahara has been a desert for roughly 2-7 million years!
Rome wasn’t even founded until 753 BC ! Furthermore, Sicily didn’t become a part of the Roman Empire until roughly 211 BC .
The timeline doesn’t even come close to making sense.
