For one couple who has welcomed 10 sons over the years, when it came time to find out the gender of their eleventh baby, they were truly shocked.
When parents learn that they will soon have a little one on the way, they can’t help but wonder if their new addition will be a boy or girl.
One family from England has had to ponder this question 11 times, to be exact.
And it was only recently that the family finally got to say, “It’s a girl.”
That’s because for Alexis Brett and her husband, David, they’ve welcomed 10 boys to their family over the last 15 years. That has to be a record.
Last Christmas, Alexis had a feeling that she was pregnant again.
A home pregnancy test confirmed that she was and it turned out to be the best Christmas gift ever.
After learning that another baby would soon be joining the family, Alexis assumed it would be another boy.
But when it came to baby number 11, Alexis was thrilled to find out they were having a girl at long last.
She’d been waiting a long time to hear this news.
“I’d been expecting to hear we were having another boy but when I found out it was a girl, my face was a picture. I was shocked but delighted,” she said in an interview with The Daily Mail .
She even shared the news with this hilarious meme on Instagram.
And for the first time ever, pink confetti rained down for the couple’s gender reveal announcement.
How exciting!
Alexis even joked that the baby was “still a girl” when she shared this photo from her 20-week ultrasound scan.
It was clear that Alexis was just so excited to welcome her first girl.
Of course, having a girl in the family at last meant it was time to buy some new baby clothes.
Alexis shared a few photos of these adorable outfits as she waited for the baby’s arrival.
On August 22, baby Cameron made her debut.
She’s named after actress Cameron Diaz as they share the same birthday.
It didn’t take long for word to spread about this amazing family.
The Bretts have been interviewed and featured by publications around the world.
Since Cameron joined the family, her big brothers have been helping Mom and Dad take care of her.
Great job, guys!
In fact, Cameron has been a good influence on all 10 of her brothers.
“She’s already having a good influence on the boys. They have generally been much better behaved around her, trying to keep quiet in case they wake her up. They also want to help with holding and feeding her. It’s been great,” David said.
If you’re wondering if the Bretts plan on having any more children, Alexis confirmed that Cameron will be their last.
“No more! I remember saying that last time, but this time I absolutely mean it. I love my family as it is now,” she said.
