Ellen’s iconic blonde pixie cut has stood the test of time. Okay, so maybe it used to be more of a really short bob, but we try not to talk about those days any more. For most of the time on her talk show, Ellen has had pretty much the same haircut, but she just showed off a dramatic transformation she went through while the show wasn’t filming over the summer.

Of course, when you keep your hair as short as Ellen does, it doesn’t take that long to grow back out, so it probably wasn’t that dramatic. She did, however, let the natural greys come in, and honestly? It looks pretty good.

She liked the silver so much she actually almost kept it! “Portia liked it, and a lot of people like it,” she said before showing it off, although she revealed she was eventually talked back into dyeing it blonde again.
“My virgin hair was touched for the very first time,” Ellen joked.
