I think it’s safe to say that we’re mostly used to the way certain things look . There are a lot of things in this world that are consistent, after all.
But sometimes, something can look totally different from a new angle, or because one thing’s been changed . Check out these pictures, which will show you things you’ve probably seen before, but different.
This yard, where it’s winter and spring at the same time.
On certain days in the late winter or early spring, snow might fall, only to melt once the sun hits it. It’s pretty funny when the snow in the shade is still intact, though. It’s like this yard is going through all the seasons.
“How it looks at 2:00 AM here with a wildfire a couple cities away.”
The wildfires that are raging on in a bunch of different places around North America and the rest of the world are definitely changing the way things look right now. This picture was taken at two in the morning, yet it looks like it’s sunset.
“The spilled yoke from my fried egg looks like a chick.”
Eggs can make all sorts of shapes, especially if you drop them in a weird way. Though, I don’t think I’ve seen a chicken’s egg that ended up in the shape of a baby chick. That’s definitely a new one.
“This Budweiser truck with a can museum on the back.”
The back of a truck usually has some interesting things on it, but this one takes the cake. It’s a museum of the different beer cans Budweiser’s used over the company’s lifespan. Hopefully it won’t distract drivers too much, but it’d be cool to spot on the road.
“My hen laid a big egg.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty used to seeing chicken eggs of a certain size. And that size isn’t super big. Not like the egg on the right of the image, that’s for sure.
That egg looks like it probably has two yolks in it.
“This cross section of a tree my dad cut down. He had nailed in metal spikes over the years as an iron supplement.”
Now there’s something you don’t see everyday. If that’s what the stump looks like, I wonder how the trunk of the tree ended up. Does it have any of the metal in it too, or would there be too much tree for all that metal?
“Red Rainbow on a stormy day.”
I’m willing to guess that this rainbow happened in pretty close proximity to a wildfire. At least close enough to paint part of the sky pink. Because this red rainbow is definitely giving me wildfire vibes.
It’s cool, but it’s also pretty eerie. Not something you’d want to see more than once.
“Glass formed when sand was truck by lightning!”
When you think about it, this makes sense. Glass is just sand that’s been heated to an extremely high temperature, after all.
But man, that just makes you think about how hot lightning is. I would not want to be struck by it.

Clouds will never cease to amaze me. They can form in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, making such cool effects in the sky. And if you’re lucky enough to catch a rainbow in the clouds? Then you’re in for a treat.

Sometimes you just have to dig a hole at the beach. No reason for it, it’s just cool. And you get to see some pretty cool things while you’re at it.

Turquoise is a really pretty stone. Arizona and other southwestern states are where a lot of the world’s supply of turquoise comes from, so it makes sense that this state would want to celebrate it on its signs.
They even got McDonald’s in on it!
“‘Big Boy’ the biggest locomotive in the world. Humans for scale.”
If you’ve ever been on a train (and I’m assuming you have), you’ll know that they’re very large structures. But this train is even bigger than the passenger cars you may be used to. It’s unreal! It can probably transport a lot of stuff.
“My image of the Mercury transit this morning.”
See it? I’ll give you a hint: look along the bottom of the sun, close to the middle of the picture. That tiny black dot is Mercury.
That really puts the size of the sun into perspective. It isn’t even that close to Mercury!
This surprising shot of a tiny wave.
This is one of those pictures you probably have to spend years practicing to be able to get. Timing is everything, and a tiny wave like this probably won’t last for very long.
It’s so awesome, though. It looks like a little blanket covering that pebble.
“Manhole cover in Wiesbaden, Germany.”
This looks like the kind of sewer entrance the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would use to get to their home. It’s so cool, even if it is a little creepy.
I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to climb down those stairs, in any case.
“This is the first flower ever grown entirely in Space.”
Is this a case of nature persisting? Or is it just or need to bring a bit of nature with us wherever we go? Well, either way, this flower seems to be doing surprisingly well despite the lack of gravity.
“Colgate once made lasagna.”
Did you know that Colgate made lasagna at one point? I sure didn’t. And yet, they really did .
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’d want to eat lasagna made by a toothpaste company. I don’t even want to know what it would taste like.
“Dropped my Diet Dr. Pepper, cut it open to find it frozen.”
Something about physics and chemistry, etc.. That’s what caused this can to freeze. I think.
Yeah, science isn’t my forte. But I am an avid enjoyer of weird and unique images on the internet, so I can still appreciate this. I bet you can, too.
“There is a natural phenomena called circumhorizontal arc. Where it seems as if a rainbow is floating around rather on a set position.”
Clouds and rainbows can do a lot of really interesting things. Because science. Seriously, I never really get how it works, but it looks amazing, and that’s mostly what matters.
“In the North Okanagan, BC, the smoke from wildfires has gotten so bad it has blocked the sun leaving the sky blood red.”
I’ve definitely never seen a street look like this before. Driving along this highway is probably kind of frightening. All of that red can’t be a good sign.
And it’s caused by the wildfires, so yeah. Not good at all.
