On this week’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon : Home Edition , Halle Berry opened up about a rather scary moment from the set of 2002’s Die Another Day , where she literally almost died if not for Pierce Brosnan.
Earlier this week on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Home Edition*, Halle Berry recalled a startling moment from early-on in her career.
James Bond saved her life!
She explained that it all went down during a love scene, which was extra embarrassing for her.
While filming a scene 2002’s Die Another Day , where she was meant to be seducing James Bond, played by Pierce Brosnan , she started choking instead.
Jimmy and Halle began by discussing how Halle typically performs her own stunts in movies she’s been in.
“You broke like three ribs if I’m not mistaken,” Jimmy said about a scene from Halle’s most recent film.
“I broke some stuff,” she replied. “And you know what, it’s okay.”
“I always get hurt. But I realize that when you go hard, you’re bound to get hurt .”
“When you do your own stunts, you’re bound to get hurt,” she reiterated.
“And in this movie, I was fighting the real UFC flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko,” she explained .
“And you know what, she had to throw some real kicks.”
“And I had to really take them, and that really broke some bones,” she said , laughing.
“She’s a beast,” she went on.
“But I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher, a better scene made, a better fight partner. Like, she just brought so much reality to it”.
“At times I felt like I was really fighting,” she added.
She revealed that even the referee on-set (who is also a referee in real life) said that he felt like he was watching a real fight.
Jimmy then had asked her if she could recount any embarrassing moments in her career during a stunt scene.
Halle mentioned that although this didn’t happen while filming a stunt, it was equally as embarrassing.

“One time I was doing a scene with Pierce Brosnan,” she said.
“In Die Another Day , and I was supposed to be all sexy and like, seduce him with a fig,” she explained .
But unfortunately, things took a less-than-sexy turn for the worse!
“And then I ended up choking on it,” she said laughing. “And then he had to get up do the Heimlich.”
“No!,” Jimmy exclaimed, laughing at Halle’s story.
“So not sexy. So not sexy,” she said . “You should have seen it.”
She explained that because of that scary and embarrassing moment they shared, he will always be important to her.
And I should hope so, considering he saved her life.
“James Bond knows how to Heimlich. He was there for me, and he will always be one of my favorite people in the whole world,” she said .
Well, there you have it! If you ever started choking and James Bond happened to be near by, you’d be in good hands.
Luckily he was around when Halle started choking on that fig!
