Say it ain’t so, Bill!
Bill Nye, beloved television personality and scientist behind Bill Nye The Science Guy and Bill Nye Saves The World , is taking Disney to court for $28 million.
The court case has to do with the profits from the run of ‘Bill Nye: The Science Guy.’
Nye is claiming that Disney improperly held onto millions in profit from the show that ran in the 90s and then in limited syndication.
The law firm representing Nye made the following statement.

“It is our hope that this case, which Disney has fought so hard to stall, will finally shine some light upon the improper accounting practices that Disney utilizes to unjustly deprive profit participants, like our clients, of their fair share of revenues from the programming that they work so hard to create.”
Under the deal, Nye and his partners were entitled to 50% of the net profits from the series.

Nye is claiming that he and the other owners of the show were short-changed by the studio and that he, personally, is owed at least $9.4 million of the $28 million cut.
The trial is scheduled for May.
It’s expected to be a 10 day trial.
Disney and its attorneys have yet to comment.
