One of the parts of being a parent means that you are constantly forced to work hard on building toys and things for your kids. From toys and things with hundreds of pieces to using all of the wind in our lungs to blow up pools and floaties, it can be a true struggle to get things done for our kids.
If we could only get back those hours…
If we had a dollar for all of the hours we spent on putting together toys for our kids, we could pay someone to put them all together and we could kick back on the couch and watch.
Blowing up pools may be the worst one of all.
During those summer months, it’s totally normal for kids to want to cool off in a little pool. While we’re not all able to afford a pool membership or even a pool in the yard, we get the next best thing.
Kiddie pools are perfect for young ones.
Those blow-up pools are super safe and amazing for parents who want to have their kids cooled off but also don’t want to have to upkeep an entire pool, too. Plus, they’re reasonably priced!
Blowing them up can be a real annoyance, though.
Unless you have a huge air pump in your garage, which not many of us have, blowing up the pools can take hours. We only have so much air in our lungs to be able to blow those damn things up.
One mom, however, has broken the mold and come up with a great way to blow up the pools.
Holly Smith, a pretty savvy and smart mom, shared a new hack she found on Facebook with the group Extreme Couponing and Bargains . The mom said you only need two things that you can probably find in your home.
All you need is a hairdryer and a plastic bottle.
Cutting the water bottle in half is imperative so you can place it on top of the hairdryer. Cut the bottom of the bottle off so that the top is able to go right into the area where you can push it into the “air” port of the pool.
Make sure that you put the hairdryer on the “cool” setting.
Making sure that the hairdryer is on “cool” is important because you don’t want to melt the plastic of the pool or make a hole in it — which would be a huge bummer.
The mom shared she blew up her kid’s pool in about a minute.
Sharing a photo on the Facebook group, the mom said that using this hack made sure that she could make the entire pool in about a minute — which is far less time than it has ever taken us.
The post has over 3,000 likes and comments.
Other parents thanked the mom and really appreciated the new life hack, with over 3,000 of them commenting on her Facebook post. Many of them wished that they had known this sooner.
Some parents are going to be “favorites” for their kids now.
“Happy days there’s are pump sorted for holidays may go get that unicorn inflatable now,” shared one parent, who clearly knows that those giant inflatable floats take a ridiculously hard amount of effort to blow up and put together for kids.
Other parents said they wish they knew before buying the pumps.
“I will be trying this… guess who didn’t buy a pump last year when they bought the paddling pool,” said one parent. “Bought the pump today, where was this post yesterday” said another one.
