It’s always complicated when our favorite celebrities break up — while we’re obviously sad for them, it also gives us a little bit of hope that maybe, one day, if all the stars aligned, maybe we have a shot .
I’m currently going through this complicated range of emotions following the news that The Big Bang Theory ‘s Johnny Galecki is apparently back on the market.

Johnny Galecki is a very familiar face to anyone who watched *Big Bang Theory,* which is pretty much everyone.
Johnny starred as Leonard in the hit sitcom, and also starred as David on Roseanne .
Johnny, 45, started dating model Alaina Meyer, 23, in 2018, and their relationship quickly became very serious.
Before that, Johnny famously dated his *Big Bang Theory* costar, Kaley Cuoco.
The couple on-screen and off-screen dated for two years from 2007 to 2009, and while they broke up, their characters remained together (on and off) until the show’s finale in 2019.
Working with your ex? That could be a nightmare!
Kaley even believed the show’s creator was trying to mess with them after their breakup.
“We dated really early on for almost two years. When we did the pilot, I was crushing so hard on Galecki but he had a girlfriend,” she said , “We got together and just fell mad for each other for two years, but then we broke up.”
“Luckily Johnny and I came out of it so brilliantly and we’re closer today than we ever were.”
“When we broke up obviously it was a little sensitive for a minute. But I remember those weeks that Chuck had written these episodes where all of a sudden our characters were like sleeping together every other second,” Kaley went on.
“Johnny and I talk about it and I think [Chuck] did that on purpose — just to [expletive] with us,” Kaley laughed.
It seems like Johnny must be pretty good at staying on good terms with his exes!
Both Johnny and Kaley happily moved on, with Kaley marrying equestrian Karl Cook in 2018 and Johnny finding love with Alaina.
Johnny and Alaina announced in May of 2019 that the couple was expecting a baby.
“We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world,” the couple said in a statement at the time.
In December of 2019, they announced the birth of their son, Avery.
“With full and grateful hearts we welcome our beautiful Avery into this incredible world,” they wrote.
“Thank you for all of your love and support,” they wrote, alongside a black and white photo of them holding their baby’s hand.
Sadly, however, it seems that the couple has split up.
People reports that the pair have broken up and are co-parenting Avery, who turns one next month. The two no longer appear to be following each other on social media, and their last post together was in April.
Neither Johnny nor Alaina have commented publicly on the split yet.
We’re hopeful that they can stay on as good terms as Johnny and Kaley did, especially with their son being so young!
