While those searching for extra-terrestrial life have long scanned the stars for signs and signals that someone else might be out there, there might have been some solid evidence of alien life right here on Earth after all.
What was once the realm exclusively of science-fiction has received slightly more credibility recently, with the U.S. Navy de-classifying a trio of videos documenting encounters pilots had with unidentified aerial vehicles that seemed to defy the abilities of technology that’s available to us. Really, merely the existence of a naval unit dedicated to investigating UFO encounters has been an encouraging sign to many people out there who “want to believe.”

And now, proponents of the theories about aliens visiting Earth have something more to crow about – with even more possibly coming in the near future.
At least two people familiar with the Pentagon’s UFO investigation program believe the DOD is in possession of materials that did not originate on our planet.
And not meteorites, either. That’s according to a bombshell report from the New York Times that also suggests the UFO program will release more of its findings to the public in the near future.
The program, which was thought to have shut down in 2012 due to a lack of funding, was instead moved to the Office of Naval Intelligence and is still in operation, Popular Mechanics reported.
Nevertheless, while the UFO task force is not classified, the material it deals with is, but it’s still required to make some information public twice a year.
The goal of the UFO task force isn’t so much to be the Men in Black handling alien incursions or interviewing extra-terrestrial tourists, but to assess threats to national security of unclear origins.
As Senator Marco Rubio, head of the Senate Intelligence Committee told CBS 4 Miami , the concern about these unidentified aerial phenomena under investigation is whether “the Chinese or Russians or some other adversary” have made “some sort of technological leap” that “allows them to conduct this sort of activity.”
However, China and Russia are perhaps not the greatest concern, according to former Senator Harry Reid or astrophysicist Dr. Eric Davis.
Reid, the former senator from Nevada, helped the original Navy UFO program get funded.
He told the New York Times he believes that “crashes from other worlds had occurred, and that retrieved materials had been studied secretly for decades, often by aerospace companies under government contracts.”
“After looking into this, I came to the conclusion that there were reports— some were substantive, some not so substantive—that there were actual materials that the government and the private sector had in their possession,” he continued.
Davis, who has served as a consultant and contractor to the Pentagon, concurred.
He also believes that the Pentagon is in possession of materials of otherworldly origins, even going so far as to tell the New York Times that he had examined some of the materials that he says “we couldn’t make ourselves.”
Davis also said that he had briefed the Pentagon as recently as March about “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.”
Rubio said that he’s open to the idea that some of the encounters have, in fact, been with aliens.
“I would say that, frankly, that if it’s something from outside this planet, that might actually be better than the fact that we’ve seen some technological leap on behalf of the Chinese or the Russians or some other adversary that allows them to conduct this sort of activity,” he told CBS 4 Miami .
