Last weekend, Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman, best known as Dog The Bounty Hunter from the hit series of the same name, suffered a ‘heart emergency’ and was rushed to be admitted to the hospital. Dog himself has now offered some insight into the situation.
On September 16th, it was revealed that Dog had been rushed to the hospital the previous weekend.
TMZ reported that Dog had suffered a “heart emergency” and that doctors would be running tests to determine the cause. While they initially feared it was a heart attack, they later found no evidence of this.

A rep for Dog took to Twitter to confirm that Dog was ‘resting comfortably’ under the doctor’s care.
He was released from hospital care shortly afterwards, and support from fans and family came pouring in, despite the mystery surrounding the initial event.
This is another sad event in a long line of tragedies for the Chapman family.
Dog’s late wife, Beth Chapman, was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer late last year and declined chemotherapy treatment in order to continue bounty hunting with her family for their show, Dog’s Most Wanted.
Tragically, Beth passed away in June due to complications from cancer.
After being rushed to the hospital and placed in a medical coma, Beth passed away on June 26th of this year. Her death took an incredible toll on the family, especially on Dog.
Dog admitted that after her death he had lost 17 pounds in two weeks.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Dog revealed that he had lost all appetite since her passing and had barely eaten. He also admitted that with his poor eyesight, he struggled to read menus without Beth’s help.
Dog has now revealed that he believes a ‘broken heart’ is the reason behind his heart emergency.
Dog told Fox31 Denver that he had felt “an intense pain” in the center of his chest despite only doing a simple workout. He said he “could barely breathe” and knew something had to be done quickly.
“I think basically I had a broken heart,” Dog revealed, sounding choked up.
“And of course, it’s going to heal,” Dog added, keeping an optimistic outlook. You can watch the emotional interview here.
Love and support immediately began pouring out from fans for Dog and the entire Chapman family.
One fan wrote , “I know that you Dog are going through a rough time right now. You take all the time that you need okay. Beth was one of a kind and very special. But then you have to bring yourself up and be okay. Your family is counting on you. Beth is counting on you.”
