In case you don’t already know who Marie Kondo is, she is a tidying-up master.
She has managed to become a household name and make a wildly successful career out of cleaning up other people’s messes professionally .
Anyway, she was aggressively called out by a food critic for “selling out”, and fans are not having it!
Apparently, criticizing Marie Kondo is where people draw the line!
Say anything you want about any other celebrity. But if you talk smack about Marie Kondo , the gloves are off! She is off-limits.
Unfortunately, food critic, Alison Roman, is finding that out the hard way…
Alison Roman is a well-known food critic, columnist for the *New York Times* and author of two best-selling cookbooks.
She never seemed like the type of person who would stir the pot (no pun intended).
But she recently made some rather scandalous remarks about Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo.
Now, Chrissy Teigen is no stranger to criticism. She gets dragged for things *all the time*. But Alison did not hold back.
In a recent interview with The Consumer , she let people know who she really feels about Chrissy and Marie.
When asked about how she would like to expand her own business and capitalize on new things, she explained that she is not interested in selling out to have a cookbook empire.
“There’s just too much stuff in the world. I want so much less stuff in my life, and I don’t want to contribute to that,” she said .
“And maybe that’s a poor business decision, because I’m sure one day I could make money off it,” she continued.
“Like, what Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me. She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target .”
“Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her.”
“That horrifies me and it’s not something that I ever want to do. I don’t aspire to that .”
“But like, who’s laughing now? Because she’s making a ton of [expletive] money.”
She added that she wants to separate herself from people like Chrissy.
“To me, the only way that I can continue to differentiate myself from the pod of people that write recipes, or cookbooks or whatever, is by doing a different thing,” she said .
Chrissy responded to the backlash via Twitter, explaining how disappointed she was to find out what Alison thinks of her.
I’m guessing that it’s safe to assume that Chrissy is no longer a fan of Alison or her cookbooks.
Anyway, it was all well and good for Alison to tear into Chrissy Teigen like that, but here’s where she crossed the line:
“Like the idea that when Marie Kondo decided to capitalize on her fame and make stuff that you can buy, that is completely antithetical to everything she’s ever taught you…,” she said .
“I’m like, damn, [expletive], you [expletive] just sold out immediately!,” she added.
“Someone’s like “you should make stuff,” and she’s like , “okay, slap my name on it, I don’t give a [expletive]!”
I’m judging by the amount of explicit language used in this quote, Alison really does not think too highly of Marie.

Fans seem to think that her remarks about Marie Kondo’s brand were not warranted, and they quickly rushed to her defense.
Calling Marie the b-word was definitely out of order and unnecessary considering she literally helps people for a living.
Let her live her life, damn!
This person took to Twitter, revealing how shocked they were to find out that people are hating on Marie Kondo.
If she wants to expand her brand and make more money, it is first of all her prerogative, and doesn’t necessarily make her a “sell-out”.
Another person wrote that it’s one thing to mess with Chrissy Teigen, it’s a whole other thing to mess with Marie Kondo.
If you want to take shots at Marie Kondo, be prepared to face her fans.
They do not mess around!
Others pointed out that there is a fairly good chance that Marie doesn’t have the foggiest idea who Alison Roman is.
Marie Kondo is a household name, Alison Roman is not , and who knows, maybe that’s probably why she’s so salty.
