In case you were in need of a reminder that there is good news and happy things going on in the world right now (I know that I am definitely in need of those reminders pretty much always), when Anderson Cooper surprised the world with the announcement of the birth of his son Wyatt, it was only natural that more good and happy news would follow.
On April 30th, Anderson Cooper revealed that his first son had been born via surrogate, which was quite the pleasant surprise to his fans.

“I want to share with you some joyful news. On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was,” Anderson revealed in the post .
While doing an interview with his close friend and fellow new father Andy Cohen, Anderson revealed that he had been reached out to by many famous names after this reveal.

“I got direct messages from people who are, like, well known, who I’d met once or twice but who reached out and I thought that was really sweet,” Anderson said . “People called me who I’ve never talked to on the phone but were really sweet and reaching out.”
“I got a call from Elton John,” Anderson said.

“You know, I’ve interviewed him a couple times. He paved the way,” Anderson continued.
Cohen then noted that Anderson was now a part of the “Gay Dads Club” that Elton founded, and revealed that when Cohen’s son Benjamin was born, Elton had sent him a special gift as well.
“You know what, he sent Ben, like, this Gucci shirt and Gucci shorts,” Cohen said.

“I’ve met Elton John once, so maybe he is kind of welcoming us into the Gay Dads Club,” Cohen joked.
What a sweet story, and it’s awesome to see Elton reaching out to those he’s inspired so greatly!
