Common sense is one of the rarest things on planet earth. it seems that at times, even with the advent of all this technology around us, that there is a gradual dumbing down of society at large.
Nobody questions anything anymore, and as a result, the status quo becomes the new normal. Now, in an effort to break the spell, women of the internet are sharing common sense things that don’t make any sense to them.
Why do women take their husband’s last name?

“Taking your husband’s last name. And letting him stamp his name on your kids instead of yours. I know there might be reasons women may willingly choose this, but I don’t get how this is the accepted default.” – Reddit u/WallyWaldez
“Guys that expect to get naked photos by randomly messaging.” – Reddit u/happystorksonthelake

Guys, you have to put in a little more work aside from sending a spicy DM or text. Rest assured if you come in hot, demanding to see a nude photo, you’re just going to get laughed at and made fun of.
When guys can’t seem to help getting in their own way.
“What I don’t get is why men whine about “how hard it is to get sex” and then ghost a woman after stringing her along so he can have sex with her once.” – Reddit u/TerraformJupiter
“The current trend of fake huge butts and fake huge lips.” – Reddit u/sentimental_snail

More and more these days, it seems like every woman on earth aspires to have Kim Kardashian’s backside paired with Lisa Rinna’s lips. I’m personally not a fan but to each their own.
Credit ratings.

“Not getting approved for a mortgage when the payments would be lower than the rent you’ve been paying for 10 years. Seriously real estate financing/credit rating in the US only makes sense if you look at it like a complete [expletive] villain.” – Reddit u/MediaCrisis
Shaving.
Why is it that when a man doesn’t shave, he’s considered to be ruggedly handsome? But when a woman chooses to not shave her legs or armpits, she’s called manly, unclean, or animal-like? Where did this double standard come from?
Your SO is the one who cheated on you, so stop fighting the “other woman.”

“When people go to the person they are afraid their SO might be interested in/having an affair with to tell them off instead of talking to their partner.” – Reddit u/abv1401
“Having kids.” – Reddit u/Phigwyn
I’m glad someone finally came out and said it! I don’t get this constant preoccupation with having kids and giving birth. Having children doesn’t make you more of a woman and choosing to not have them certainly doesn’t make you less of one.
The unnecessary emphasis that’s put on gender reveals and gender reveal parties.

“Gender revels in general tbh,” writes Reddit user jaberwakey. “So many people are doing it it’s becoming normalized, almost expected to have one at this point. No thanks!”
Being friends with someone, simply because you’ve known them forever.
Your oldest friend isn’t always your best friend and that’s OK! Friendships are designed to grow and evolve over time — not remain frozen or stagnant in one specific period of time. If all you ever talk about are decades-old memories, it might be time to move on.
Our cultural obsession with social media.

“The whole social media hysteria or why ppl watch those Kardashian-shows. Social media just makes me feel bad about myself, and I can’t handle all the yelling in those shows. People are fighting non stop[sic] and it just makes me anxious. ” – Reddit u/Cute_Mousse_7980
“The thing about boys having to be taller than their girlfriends.” – Reddit u/josie71202

I’m not saying that there aren’t a lot of immature guys out there who feel this way, but it most definitely is a two-way street. I’ve met plenty of women who would never entertain the thought of going out with a man shorter than they were.
People who don’t say what they mean or mean what they say.
“The way people are so indirect with their communication, even under circumstances where saying something wouldn’t be a problem. The way you have to guess what people are thinking and what they want all the time.” – Reddit u/purplepansy88
“If you multiply something by 0, I don’t understand why it should disappear. Don’t try to explain to me.” – Reddit u/Romy-zorus

If you write the equation 6×0, I agree — it doesn’t make sense. However, if you reverse the equation and put the 0 first, it becomes clear because there was essentially never anything there, to begin with.
Camping.
“I get wanting to connect with nature, hiking, unplugging, spending time around a fire with friends or family – but why does this have to involve one or multiple nights sleeping outside on the rocky ground stuffed inside a polyester zippered bag, in a larger polyester zippered hut?” – Reddit u/alwaysamensch
