After it was all said and done, people couldn’t stop talking about the Fiji Water Girl, and her mad photobombing skills.
Walking the red carpet before any award’s show is a pretty big deal in Hollywood.
I’m someone who loves to admire the various fashions on the carpet, and you could imagine my surprise when I noticed one person who snuck into not one, not two, but literally dozens of red carpet photos.
Other people noticed as well, and she quickly became known as the Fiji Water Girl.
Seriously, she showed up everywhere, and most of the time, was looking directly at the cameras.
She knew exactly what she was doing.
Fiji Water Girl’s real name is Kelleth Cuthbert.
And when she’s not serving lewks and water on the red carpet, she’s also a Toronto model who, according to The Star , had no idea that she was going viral.
“Riverdale” actress Lili Reinhart, didn’t mind the photobomb at all.
She shared the picture on Twitter, and called it “the best publicity stunt ever pulled.”
Jamie Lee Curtis, however, wasn’t as impressed with the stunt.
She showed up to the red carpet, serving some serious looks of her own.
Although some people weren’t here for the white hair, I was loving it.
Someone on Twitter pointed out that Jamie was “in danger of being upstaged by the Fiji Water Girl.”
And Jamie was quick to shut it down, saying that she specifically moved away from the blatant promotions.
“The sponsors of events need to get permission from people before they try 2 take their picture with them,” she wrote.
“I said out loud that I didn’t want to be doing advertising for either, ” she added in a separate Instagram post .
Was Jamie directly attacking Kelleth? Definitely not.
But she makes a good point about being associated with certain brands.
It’s not like Jamie did all that Activia work for nothing!
There’s a reason why companies pay celebs BIG bucks to promote their products. Why should Jamie give them free advertising?
On the other hand, Fiji Water seemed to take the situation pretty well.
Which makes a lot of sense, since their brand awareness probably shot through the roof over the last few days.
In fact, the company is REALLY running with the whole meme of it all.
They’ve shared a handful of photoshopped images like this one, captioned “After a punishing workout, treat your body to some natural artesian FIJI Water. #FIJIWaterGirl”
LOL.
At the end of day, everyone is getting a little promo, so no harm done, right?
