If you ever worked for a fast-food chain, I bet you know a lot of secrets, huh? Well, that seems to be the latest trend for TikTok videos.
In this latest one I stumbled upon, a former employee of Little Caesars named Mariam shares with her audience why she ended up quitting the famous pizza joint. And, some of her reasons may actually surprise you. So let’s check this out, okay? Let’s go.
Let me ask you: Have you ever worked at a fast-food restaurant?

Well, if you have, you might sympathize with this lady who recently shared reasons why she hated working at Little Caesars. So let’s get to some of those. Shall we? Are you ready?
Number #1

Apparently, this lady never got any breaks, even on the days she worked 14-hour shifts with the exception of a five-minute smoke break.
I mean, what? What kind of place is that? Heck, I don’t think that’s even legal, huh?
Number #2

If you’re a minor, which means you’re under 18-years-old, you make minor wages. When Mariam started, she was only making $7.57 per hour. Wow! That’s crazy, right? I feel bad for anybody who has to work for that little.
Number #3

Speaking of minors, the rules at Little Caesars are that if you’re a minor, you can’t work more than four hours. So let me count this up. If you make $7.57 and work only four hours, your daily take is a whopping $30.28. What can you even do with that? Perhaps spend it on your dinner, ha, ha. That’s so sad.
Number #4

The last and probably the most disturbing thing of all — is all the food waste. Mariam witnessed so much food being thrown out. And they were not allowed to give food to the homeless. Apparently, it’s because Little Caesars guarantees their food to be fresh for only 30 minutes.
So here’s the deal:

If they were to give the food away and somebody got sick, they might get sued. What? That makes no sense to me at all. I mean, what pizza or other fast food is considered not fresh after only 30 minutes? Huh?
Of course, this is all according to one former employee.

After Mariam posted this video, other ex-employees chimed in. A few of them noted that they didn’t experience so much food thrown away at the location where they worked. So maybe this was just one bad example here.
Well, at least some of these things were confirmed by other employees

This person, who’s a current assistant manager, said they agree with everything Mariam pointed out. Ouch! That doesn’t sound good to me. I’m so grateful I never had to work at a fast-food joint. The grocery store I worked at when I was young was pretty great.
So, what do you think of this?

Does it change the way you feel about eating at fast-food restaurants? Well, I’ve heard some horror stories before, so sadly, I’m not too surprised by this.
But if I knew of a specific location that did this, I wouldn’t go there to eat. Vote with your money, people. Don’t support places that treat their employees so terribly.
