Sylvester Stallone is celebrating a pretty huge milestone of a birthday this year! There are some celebrities who seem to just get more prolific, lively, and energetic with age, and good ol’ Sly seems to be one of them. Even though he’s turning 74, he’s still got the energy, vigor, and passion for his craft that he did when he was younger!
Sylvester is a Hollywood legend.
Known for his incredibly iconic work as Rocky Balboa in the Rocky series (did you know he wrote the first film?), as John Rambo in the Rambo series, Barney in The Expendables , John Spartan in Demolition Man , and tons more legendary action heroes in the film world, The Italian Stallion has definitely earned his spot as Hollywood royalty.
Sylvester was born on July 6th, 1946, which makes him 74 years old this year!
When he was born , misuse of forceps by the doctors accidentally severed a nerve in Sylvester’s face, which caused paralysis in parts of his face, which gave Sly his signature slurred way of speaking. It’s amazing that he was able to take a disability like that and turn it into his signature style rather than let it prevent him from having an acting career!
