If you’ve been keeping up with Kat Von D, you’d know the 38-year-old is no stranger to controversy.
The tattoo artist has been facing controversy since 2018 after making some questionable comments about vaccines.
While pregnant, Kat remarked, “If you don’t know what it’s like [to] have people around you think you are ridiculous, try being openly vegan.”
“Try being an openly pregnant vegan on Instagram having a natural, drug-free home birth in water with a midwife and doula, who has the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations,” she concluded .
Naturally, this bold statement caused massive uproar from her fans who disagreed with her decision.
People began boycotting Kat’s makeup brand, as well as unfollowing the tattoo artist on social media while expressing their disappointment.
This backlash led to Kat making an apology video that many fans thought was a ploy to save her makeup brand’s reputation.
She later admitted that she made a mistake with her claims and clarified that she was not anti-vaccine.
Speaking with the *LA Times* she said, “I was six months pregnant at the time, and I was still trying to figure out my birthing plan to have my son. And, at the time, I made a completely thoughtless post on my Instagram on whether or not I would vaccinate my son.”
“And, because of it, people think I’m something that I’m not,” she explained .
“But the truth is, I’m not an anti-vaxxer at all,” she explained.
“I just made a mistake, and I was completely uninformed. It was stupid, and I really shouldn’t have opened my big mouth on the subject.”
Now, Kat is sparking more controversy by hosting a large Christmas dinner amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
This gathering comes just weeks after Kat claimed she was moving out of California due to “tyrannical government overreach” in response to the state’s pandemic protocols.
“Merry Christmas from our family to yours,” Kat captioned the controversial pic.
In case you don’t feel like doing math today, the table has 19 people gathered around it, including Kat’s two-year-old son, Leafar.
When the now deleted pic was posted on Reddit, the critiques came pouring in.
“With this pandemic anti-vaxxers have really shown their true colors. They’re not actually anti-vaccines, they’re pro-disease,” wrote Lulle79.
“well she did say she was moving out of california to escape tyrannical governments forcing ppl to wear masks and vaccinate so it makes sense she’d be a dumbass abt this as well,” agreed jackbootjump.
“She worked hard to earn the nickname Kat Von Disease and just wants everyone to know that she’s living up to it!” echoed verycherrybombx.
Needless to say, many people weren’t impressed with Kat’s display.
Kat recently purchased a “haunted” mansion in Indiana where her family will be living part-time.
