Spoiler alert!
Now that we know the smash hit Lucifer is (thankfully) returning to Netflix for it’s sixth and final season, we’ve been slowly given hints from the cast and crew about what exactly is going to go down in the final season. One of these reveals was definitely a welcome return to the series by a beloved actor!
In June, Netflix confirmed that they had signed the show on for a sixth and final season.
This announcement came almost immediately after Netflix had dropped the date for when season 5 would be available to stream on its platform, so naturally fans were incredibly excited about all the good news they’d just received.
Well, they just got some more!
Actor D.B. Woodside, who plays Amenadiel on the show, announced on Twitter he was returning to the show.
“Happy to announce that I will be returning to Lucifer for season 6. Additionally, I will be directing an episode for our final season,” the actor tweeted, adding, “This is a beautiful cast. We stand by each other. We fight for one another. So… let’s get to work.”
He wasn’t the only one excited.
“Yes Brother…! Utterly delighted and excited to get back alongside you both in front of and behind the camera!” tweeted the show’s star Tom Ellis, who plays the titular Lucifer.
Fans are also excited to see Amenadiel return, as they took to twitter to share their excitement.
“The absolute best news! Congratulations. Well deserved and a very long time coming,” one fan tweeted.
“YEEAAAH You just made my day DB! Never doubted we’ll have you in season 6 but now having you even directing an episode is so fantastic news, I’m so happy for you!!!!,” tweeted another.
