Summer is coming and so are outdoor festivals.
Whether you plan on camping at the site or staying at a nearby hotel you definitely need to be prepared for anything. From dealing with inclement weather issues or getting used to large crowds I’ve got you covered.
Here are my tips for a safe and fun festival experience you will remember forever.
1. It’s Gonna Get Hot
It’s an outdoor festival so one thing’s for sure, it’s gonna get hot. So stock up on body wipes because you’re gonna need them.
2. Use That Deodorant
Swipe some between your legs so they won’t chafe and slide it on your feet to prevent them from sliding in your flip-flops. Great idea!
3. Stay Cool
When the temperature soars to unbelievable heights an easy way to cool off is to make an ice bucket so you can soak your feet. You’re welcome!
4. Make PB&J Sandwiches
Food can get very expensive at these events so you can cut back by bringing some bread, peanut butter and jam for an easy snack.
5. Bring Some Spices
Even though you’re at an outdoor festival and cooking, that doesn’t mean you have to eat bland and boring food. Am I right?
6. Bring A Yoga Mat
Air mattresses can be so bulky, so instead of lugging all that extra weight, just bring a yoga mat to sleep on. It’s actually comfy.
7. Tent Light
So this guy came up with a genius idea of using a water jug and a headlight to dispense light in his tent. This is wicked!
8. Get Hydration Packs
These can be lifesavers when it comes to hiking and camping and can be used to hold water as well as phones, wallets, and keys.
9. Keep That Water Cold
If you forgot your insulated water bottle just use tin foil and duck tape and it will help to keep that water cool.
10. Don’t Bother With A Pillow
Here’s another way to cut down on bulk. Just bring a pillow case and stuff your clothes in it to make a pillow. Awesome!
11. Stash Some Cash
Things happen unexpectantly, so if your wallet goes missing that cash you stashed in your phone case may come in handy. What a genius tip!
12. Keep Valuables Safe
Be ready for inclement weather by keeping your valuables like your phone or your wallet in a ziplock bag. Not today torrential downpour. LOL!
13. Lock That Phone
Now if you’re really paranoid about the safety of your valuables just lock your phone in your car or better yet, leave it at home.
14. Bring Jumper Cables
Your car battery can be used to cook food, charge your phone or to do your hair but what happens if it runs out? Be ready!
15. Organize Your Necessities
How neat is this idea? This way, you’ll never have to rummage through all your stuff to find that toilet paper or first aid kit.
16. Stalk The Washrooms
A trip to the washroom during an event as large as this can be scary so keep a note of which ones are the cleanest.
17. Get Emergency Ready
Accidents do happen, especially when you least expect it. So make a little emergency kit inside an Altoid tin with all the necessities like Band-Aids and lip balm.
18. Minimize Your Makeup
Even though it’s an outdoor event you still want to look pretty, right? Skip the bulk and store your makeup in contact lens cases instead.
19. Get Festival Ready
Get ready to rock with your fellow festival-goers by making your own unique sign like this. And your friends will know how to find you.
20. Keep Things Clean
It’s unbelievable the amount of garbage that gets left over after an event like this, so do your part and clean up after yourself before leaving. A pop-up laundry basket works well as a garbage can!
21. Portable Shower
Save money by not paying ridiculous fees to use their showers, and instead, buy your own or make a portable one. It’s easier than it sounds.
