I love Grey’s Anatomy the way you might love a particularly cantankerous cat who still has his claws. Sure, there’s many sweet, cuddly moments, and it’s always fun trying to figure out what he’s up to before it becomes obvious, and there’s so much love in my heart for him, but it’s always important to remember that at the end of the day, that cat can and will hurt you.
Grey’s Anatomy is an expert in hurting us.

The number of times that *Grey’s Anatomy* has had me bawling over a character death is quite frankly embarrassing.
Going as far back as Denny or our dear precious George, to the tragedy of the season 8 plane crash taking away Lexie Grey, all the way up to the more recent and absolutely soul-crushing loss of Meredith’s soulmate, Derek Shepard.
The current season (17, if you’re keeping track) has been bringing back a few of these losses.
Meredith, who’s (SPOILER ALERT!) on a ventilator due to her on-going fight with COVID-19, has been getting visits from a few of those dearly departed characters on a beach in her mind, including Derek and George so far.
In the teaser trailer for the next episode, Meredith’s guest is none other than her half-sister Lexie Grey!
Lexie was a fan-favorite, and her death in that plane crash in season 8 was one of the most heartbreaking scenes of all time, so fans are understandably excited to see actress Chyler Leigh back on their television screens as Lexie.
Fans are sharing their excitement on Twitter.
“Goosebumps! I would have to be content seeing my beloved characters on these tiny beach clips. How hard it is for the writers to bring them back after killing them all – coz why do they have to do it in the first place!” one fan shared .
