Toe kicks, kick space, toe space. What is that, you ask?
It’s the baseboards under your cabinets, basically. And it’s entirely possible that you’re wasting that space without even knowing it.
The potential that space offers is begging to be explored, so let’s get into it.
Install a pans drawer.

Alright, let’s start out simple: a pan drawer. This is a great way to keep those flat, narrow pans out of the way but still accessible. It’ll also free up space in your cupboards…you know, so you can buy more stuff.
Add lighting.

Most cabinet lighting is installed under top-level cabinets, but may I propose putting them near the floor? The lighting will still be subtle, but it’ll be less glaring than light at eye level. Great for those late-nate pee or snack breaks.
Install a step stool.

Because some of us are short, right? All my short people, you understand the struggle of having to reach to get things in your upper cabinets.
A step stool is a genius thing to keep there!
Turn one into a junk drawer.

Listen, you need somewhere to put those random objects that don’t have a home yet. You need somewhere to put the stuff you can’t throw away, but eventually probably will anyway.
Keep your bathroom essentials all in one spot.

Bathrooms are notoriously short on space. To add a bit more to yours, install a toe kick drawer for your essentials! It’s a great place to keep towels, extra soap, and other spare things you need, but don’t use every day.
Create a new spot for your pet’s food.

They’re eating on the floor anyway, right? So why not give them their own little spot?
The genius of this is the one-stop-shop element? You can keep the food in the drawer or cabinet above, as well as a small broom — animals are messy af.
Use the space for your entertainment needs.

Spare game console remotes? A piece of workout equipment or two that you don’t need all the time? You know what to do. Put them in a toe kick drawer.
Put a vacuum in there.

If you’re tired of vacuuming or sweeping, may I take a moment from your day to change your life?
Toe-kick vacuums make sweeping easy af. Just push whatever junk you don’t want towards it and watch it do its thing. I didn’t even know these existed until now!
Use the space for crafts.

Wherever you have cabinets, you have the potential for a toe kick space. For this house, storing kid’s crafts in it was ideal! It’s easy for kids to access, and it saves you a trip to Ikea for another BILLY bookshelf.
Store platters and other infrequently used dishes.

No one needs a platter for everyday use, right? For the dishes that you only pull out for big parties or fancier dinners, a toe kick drawer is the perfect solution.
Install a drawer for your wine.

You had to have seen this coming. Wine bottles would fit perfectly in that narrow space. You could even have custom racks made to hold them in place!
Goodbye, wine rack. Hello, wine drawer.
Store your cutting boards in it!

I mean, duh. Much like your pans and muffin tins, cutting boards can be easily stored away to make room for other, bulkier objects in your cabinets.
Plus, you basically can do a squat every time you reach for a cutting board. Exercise!
Keep your cleaning supplies at hand (Foot? At foot?).

You know where I’m going with this. Microfiber cloths, wipes, gloves, and even a small dustpan all fit perfectly in a toe kick drawer. You could also store spare cleaning sprays in there if you buy in bulk!
For the tablescapers among us…

There’s a toe kick storage solution for you, too! Napkin rings, charcuterie boards, placemats, and napkins would all fit perfectly in a toe kick drawer. You could even keep spare cutlery down there!
