If you’re an avid DIYer, then I know you love the feeling when someone says to you, “OMG, you made that?!” It’s probably one of the best parts about making something yourself.
Who doesn’t love the appreciation in someone’s voice when they say that?
So, whether you’re making someone a gift or it’s for yourself…
Let’s do some DIYs that’ll get everyone excited about what you’ve made. Let’s get to it!
1. We all know I have a love for pom-poms, so it’s no doubt that I need this pom-pom stool ASAP.

You can just reupholster a stool you already have, OR it looks like this one was made from a tire. How cool is that?!
And the final result is so stunning, it’s hard to believe it’s not from some fancy store!

A big shoutout to Blog Remobilia for coming up with this fantastic idea. I can’t wait to give it a try myself!
2. When I was in college, a friend of mine made photo coasters for her sister’s baby shower.

It’s such a great gift and memento for someone you love! It’s also really easy to create by using tiles and Modge Podge.
Just think of all the cute photos you have lying around and what great coasters they would make!

Plus, they’re so easy and cheap to create, you could switch them out all the time. Check out The Frugal Girls for more info.
3. Whenever I’m feeling creative but not sure what I want to make, I always default to painting ceramics.

It’s such a fun medium to work with and super useful, too!
How pretty are these patterns from FellowFellow?

You can get cheap white ceramics at Ikea or even the dollar store! Then you can use ceramic markers and paint, or oil-based Sharpies!
4. If you frequent Michael’s craft store, you’ve probably seen these wooden crates.

I always wonder what to do with them when I see them! They’re always on sale, so it’s tempting to pick one up.
But this side table from Dwell Beautiful is the perfect inspiration!

Such a simple way to use a cheap crate and make it look super bougie. I’m definitely going to try this!
5. Resin is one medium I haven’t played around with much, but I’d love to give it a try!

The team at I Love Resin makes it look so easy, I feel like I could do it!
6. There are just so many ways to play around with resin, I don’t know why I haven’t yet!

I really like these pendants from Nunn Design . Such a cool use of the medium!
7. Sometimes you need to think outside of the box to get great art on a budget.

House Of Jade Interiors had this beautiful shower curtain and wanted to utilize it better in the home.
So they created a frame from wood and mounted the shower curtain on it!

Then they hung it up on the wall. Large-scale art can be so pricey, and this is a great way to save big!
8. I love wandering through the craft wood section at arts stores. There is always a really interesting blank canvas to be found.

There is so much you can do with reclaimed or new wood, including a really handy sign for your laundry room.
We all know that washing machines and dryers eat up lone socks, but eventually they’ll come back around.

I love this laundry room sign from 100 Things 2 Do for keeping those socks company.
9. One of my favorites gifts to give if I want an excited reaction from friends is bath products.

Everyone loves a good clay mask or bath bomb, and they’re always surprised when you let them know you made it!
And they’re actually so much easier to make than it looks!

10. Does anyone else having a growing collection of random coins you’ve collected through your travels?

My boyfriend’s mom gave us a ton of coins similar to the one in the photo, but I didn’t know what to do with them!
I think making some matching knot bracelets using the coins would be a super cute gift!

You can see how it’s done over on Instructables !
11. Earrings are definitely one of my favorite projects to create, mostly because I have to wear clip-ons and my options are limited.

Tassels are super easy to make using yarn or embroidery floss and make adorable earrings, too.
Aren’t they super, super cute?

You could definitely make these for your next big party or outing. Thanks to Makes Bakes And Decor for sharing this fun project!
12. One of my favorite DIY gift ideas is making coasters for friends and family!

I think they are a super cool housewarming gift, and everyone can use them!
Using alcohol ink to create beautiful and colorful designs is just one way you can make coasters.

Aren’t these tile coasters from A Kailo Chic Life absolutely stunning?!
13. I love having my DIY projects all around my home, because I love to show off my hard work!

A great DIY that’s pretty easy to do, but makes a big splash, is a wall hanging!
Wall hangings can be created in so many different ways, and so often are unique to the creator!

14. Want to make your jeans stand out so much that people will definitely be surprised to hear that you made them?

Pull a The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants on them!
A little cuff of the jean will never go out of style…

But why not make them unique by adding some beads?
The result is so much prettier than I would have guessed, and I actually really like them!

15. I have a funny story about this next DIY.

I’ve actually used this tutorial to create a bralette top of my own. This was definitely over five years ago now!
The best part of the story? Without realizing it, I met the DIYer behind this project!

She and I met up for coffee and still talk often. What a small world, isn’t it? If you head over to Chictopia , Sam and Syl share more details.
16. This is a great DIY project for anyone who loves a good thrift store find.

All you really need is a vintage suitcase and an old folding table.
And once you have that, you can get started!

Seriously, you can totally make this DIY project from The Desi Wonder Woman !
It’s super easy!
If you glue the suitcase to the folding table, you’ve got the perfect place to store your bar accessories!

This would be great for any party or event. I need to try this one!
17. I have a huge stash of buttons that I didn’t know what to do with, but I do now!

This bowl is super easy to make, and it looks fabulous, too. Thanks to Rob and Courtney over at Hometalk for sharing.
18. Making soap is actually a lot easier than it seems.

I know what you’re thinking: this can’t be true.
But it actually, truly is.
Seriously, you can pull it off!

Heart Hands Home uses a secondary Crock-Pot they picked up at a garage sale and a Pringles container to make all kinds of fun soaps!
Which one was your favorite?
I really like the soap one! It’ll give me a new hobby.
Let us know in the comments which one is your fave!
