Linda Evangelista Reveals She Was 'Permanently Deformed' After Cosmetic Procedure

There are some models whose names are just synonymous with the very idea of a super model — Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum... the list goes on. One name that would absolutely come to mind is Linda Evangelista, although she hasn't been as publicly active as her peers in the modelling world.

In a new Instagram post, she's opened up about why that is.

Linda Evangelista is one of the most iconic supermodels of the '90s.

The star hasn't been making very many public appearances, even at events with many of her peers. In a new Instagram post, Linda has opened up about the reason she's been living out of the public eye for the past five years.

Linda shared her explanation.

"Today I took a big step towards righting a wrong that I have suffered and have kept to myself for over five years," she wrote, addressing her fans "who have wondered why I have not been working while my peers' careers have been thriving."

Linda revealed that the reason is that she "was brutally disfigured" by a cosmetic proceduere.

The procedure, known as Cool Sculpting, is a fat-reduction procedure that can be used to target multiple areas like the stomach or the jawline. Linda alleges that the procedure has left her "permanently deformed" and caused her to develop Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia.

"PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression," Linda shared.

I am moving forward to rid myself of my shame, and going public with my story. I am so tired of living this way," she concluded. "I would like to walk out my door with my head high, despite not looking like myself any longer."

It's awesome that Linda is finally speaking out!
